Summary: unprofessional host, disappointing breakfast, dirty bathroom, loud room, not eco-friendly accommodation, but location is perfect, the room is big and bright and bed is comfortable. I would not stay again, not worth the money.
The host at first tried to be nice, gave us keys and transport cards to load tickets on them, even tho it was strange interaction it was nice. At the last day I asked for a scale to weight our luggage and it was also provided which was nice.
Location is perfect, 10 meters to enter metro station, ~25 mins walk to Louvre and Seine, nice and clean district, seems to be safe too.
Breakfast was disappointing. It looks the same every day, every guest can eat one croissant per breakfast. There is a fruit salad with lots of small flies in it, bread, one type of ham, two types of cheese and yogurt. There is also a butter (small bars from market, not eco-friendly) but it was outdated by about a month - despite that it was served daily. The table is small, so you have to tell the host every day what time you want to eat breakfast tomorrow. When we were 20 minutes later than we said, the host said some offensive comment. He doesn’t understand people are on holidays here, not waking up to work, so don’t want to be stressed about getting up. Very unpleasant and unprofessional.
The room was loud, definitely not soundproof - everything from kitchen, corridor and outside can be heard easily which is uncomfortable. Hard to rest when you hear noises and think about probably being heard too.
The problem is the bathroom which is tiny, additionally there is no place to put towels after shower, because the radiator is filthy, all in dust, and it was kind of disgusting. There is some black mold in the shower. All this lead to the problem of towels not drying up and being wet after one shower. When we requested towels to be changed daily, the host refused, because he believes he is eco-friendly changing them every second day. Then we requested additional towel and host also refused, giving us the same reason as before, but with additional attack on me suggesting that “we don’t care about environment in our country”. The thing is we care more than you, and is it’s really easy to disprove “eco-friendliness” of this host - you see, when you run a hotel business you’re already generating tons of water usage. Additionally, you’re generating tons of CO2 pollution, because you generate plane trips from all over the world to Paris. What is hypocrisy too is using old taps where you have to open hot and cold water separately. Everyone using this kind of tap is using far more water than it’s needed, because ones needs to set appropriate temperature and pressure mix, and after setting it correctly ones don’t turn it over because of all the hustle one went through just before. These are the things the host should be concerned instead of being afraid of giving us...
Read moreIt was this picture that enticed us to book ‘My Home For You Luxury ‘ in Paris .. We wanted this type of accommodation for its lovely bedroom, with private bathroom…and the opportunity to have a sitting room / breakfast area to enjoy during our stay. |The host is well organized, the bedroom/bathroom was well maintained and very comfortable. The breakfast time was punctual and the food options were very good and delicious.|And now, the disappointment:|What was described in the booking information and accompanying photos implied the use of all areas pictured. Nothing was said about restrictions and restricted use of what we thought would be ‘ the common area’ shown ..that being the table and seated area. We had imagined ourselves enjoying this lounge with a glass of wine in the evening..and perhaps sitting there with a second cup of tea or coffee after breakfast.|The reality is quite different.|Access to this breakfast / seating area is only allowed between the hours of breakfast. And sitting on the furniture is not allowed with any food or drink.|The room is entirely off limits except for the breakfast hours.|While we can appreciate the desire of the host to keep this area private for his use only , during all other times, we think that this should be made crystal clear to all who are looking to book this accommodation. Like us, some will want to choose differently when understanding the limitations involved. It would be my hope that the host will change his listing to include all relevant restrictions that can impact one’s perceived use , based on the...
Read moreVery disappointed about the service during and after my stay.Until today ( two weeks after my stay) i am still waiting for my invoice that i asked. Every time that i call or message the owner , hè completely ignores my text or phone call. Very disrespectful person!! I booked a room via bookin, sended mails to booking that I am not receiving an invoice and booking says that it is up to thé owner to make an invoice! After 4 messages and 2 phone calls that are ignored still waiting for thé invoice. This person is really not an honnest and correct person. Everytime I asked something during my stay , I receive thé answer ‘ on booking I receive a 9/10’. Hè is Just focused in having a raté and is so fake and dishonnest to people.
A little bit about the accommodation:
Arriving at the b&b the owner came down, took our luggages to thé room and explained us about thé facilities. It was straight and to thé point. Thé breakfast that was served was very basic and poor. When I asked the owner if we could have something else then on the table I received thé answer ‘ on booking i receive a 9/10 , everyone is satisfîed’. There was 1 croissant per person, a bit of Bread, cheese and charcuterie. The fruit was Just a banaan en Apples. Honnestly for thé price that we have payed, it could have been a little bit...
