I liked this place. It was cozy and warm inside. Very friendly staff! I was just in shock when I arrived here and expected to see the same, large, luxury hotel room that I saw on the travel booking website, and got an itty bitty room (this is a 3 star hotel). Silly me, I should have known the best of the best would be shown online! But anyhow, this really was a great place to stay. I love the Latin Quarter, it is so quaint and beautiful. You have the Panthéon behind you, the Notre Dame Cathedral in front of you, and the Seine River in between. There are great restaurants nearby, and a Metro stop not too far away.
The size of the room really did not matter in the end as it was mostly a place for sleeping and bathing. The staircase was pretty cool looking. The elevator was questionable. It didn't fit more than 2 people at a time (let alone 2 people plus their 2 suitcases each). So I mostly opted to take the awesome looking staircase instead. It was kind of funny actually, my traveling companion and I on our last day, positioned ourselves where one of us was on our floor, and the other in the lobby as we sent down our luggage in the elevator by itself one by one. Hopefully that elevator has since been updated.
What was kind of a bummer was that I couldn't fit my voltage converter in the electrical outlet as there was a ring of plastic surrounding it, which, if you had appliances that fit Europe's outlets, wouldn't be a problem. But it was for this traveler who had no camera battery after a day and a half into her trip, c'était un imprévu.
They provide free breakfast in the lower level of the hotel, and it's really good food, too. Can't beat that!
Lastly, don't forget to leave your room key with the concierge when you head out...
Read moreMe and my friend stayed at Sully for 3 nights at the end of Feb. We booked this hotel extremely last minute (the day of arriving) and we were very pleased with what we got! We stayed on the top floor and it was a bit of a treck up the stairs however once we saw the view out of our room it was SO worth it! The rooms were very cosy and if we were staying for any longer would maybe have gotten on top of eachother a little bit. But the rooms were clean enough and the bathroom was lovely! (bar the tiles falling off slightly in the corner). The bed was actually very comfy too! As most of the reviews say, the decor was outdated however for the price you’re paying that doesn’t matter, plus you’re in Paris!! You shouldn’t be sat in the room dwelling about the colour of the carpets! Was very close to the metro stations, supermarkets, cafes and more! I’d happily stay here again as it felt like the true...
