I will begin with the good thing: the USP is the food. Undoubtedly, the food was amazing and outstanding. It was a great place for someone who is vegan or vegetarian. The guy who owns the restaurant was very warm and welcoming and absolutely had a great nature. The only disappointing person was the lady at the bar counter. I would say she is a mood spoiler, so it's better not to interact with her if you don't want to spoil your mood. I hope she takes this as feedback. It is not just good food that can help you run the restaurant. How you treat your customers also matters.
I couldn't find a reply. Click below, so I will respond here to clarify.
I am sorry, Bisou. This is half of the information your co-owner gave you, and for your information, my dissatisfaction is not from the response, “It’s not about normality but equality,”.
Your co-owner hasn't told you about the interaction she has had with us before. I asked her in a very kind way, " We are ready to give an order.” She responded rudely and arrogantly, "I am not," and moved out of that area. Which I felt was personally insulting, not just me. The other 3 people felt the same.
There are many ways to say it. For example, I will call someone to take your order, or I will call the right person, or We'll take your order in shortly, etc., etc. I did not want to write this on review sentence to sentence, but it is okay that you made me write. Even in my country, India, we come from great values, respect, and modern views. Dishing someone for no reason is not the right thing at all (not a cool standard).
As a husband, you failed and made your wife work for a long nine-hour shelf. Again, take this as feedback: you should hire someone instead of making a 6-month-old pregnant lady work. I hope now you know the real reason, and this clearly shows your outdated behavior by making a 6-month-old pregnant lady work for long hours.
This clearly shows that you want to hear only good things. Be open-minded and have the guts to take...
Read moreThe food is pretty great. It's fresh and refreshing, not extremely creative, but something you can just enjoy and has a plus of being vegan but not boring (like many places). The cocktails were okay, not more.
Unfortunately, the service was very bad. They are full and very unfriendly. My girlfriend said that that was the only appearance of this infamous "Parisian snobbery". Every question we asked (like: what's inside a dish) was answered with "I don't have the whole evening to explain"-vibe. Both the owner and a woman who was working there gave this vibe, because of which we decided not to come anymore on another evening.
They also have a deal of 30 euro per person, which they somehow enforce on the whole table (so if three people want it and one does not, you can't have it). Since my girlfriend was not that hungry, I asked if it's possible to have this menu for myself whereas my girlfriend would take a-la-carte, he answered so angry "this is not open for negotiation" and went away, as if I asked him something out of this world. It's ok to say no, but it's also okay to ask...
So - all in all - the food was great, but our experience (and that what counts more when you decide to eat out on a Parisian vacation) - was bad.
Update: The owner's response: "Congratulation for being our worst clients of 2023 ! 🎉🎉" just shows...
Read moreBe Better Restaurant in the 4th arrondissement of Paris is a delightful haven for anyone seeking fresh, soulful vegan cuisine. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy vibe that makes you feel right at home from the moment you step in.
The menu is thoughtfully crafted, showcasing the best of plant-based ingredients with a creative twist. We started with the barbecue broccoli, which was a revelation—perfectly charred, tender, and bursting with smoky flavor. It was a wonderful introduction to the culinary journey that followed.
Next, we enjoyed the mushroom tacos, which were rich and earthy, with a satisfying blend of textures. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection, and the tacos had a depth of flavor that made them truly memorable. The potatoes were another highlight—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just right.
To finish, we indulged in the roasted plum dessert. It was a beautiful balance of sweetness and tartness, with the apricots offering a fresh, vibrant note that made the dish both refreshing and indulgent.
Overall, Be Better Restaurant is a must-visit for vegans and non-vegans alike. The food is not just a meal but an experience, with each dish prepared fresh and served with care. If you’re in Paris and looking for a place that offers both taste and heart, Be Better is the...
