Our dinner at Vin des Pyrenees was unfortunately the only bad experience we had during our week in Paris. Having worked myself for many years in the hospitality industry, including in the dining room I know good service versus poor and our service on the evening of September 22nd was extremely poor. It was evident that our waiter, a young man with a light beard and a “man bun” hairstyle was more concerned about appearing hip and cool than providing professional service. Examples: 1) when we arrived at 7.30pm we were told that our table was booked for 9.30pm and that therefore we had 2 hours to eat-no problem we were informed of that when we booked and we accepted. However throughout the meal service was quite slow and inattentive and when we finished our main course at 9pm we waited for some time before our plates were cleared. During the clearing of our plates our waiter managed to send a fork flying off the table onto the floor, also in the process getting some gravy on my shirt. While accidents can happen, our waiter offered no apology instead only a smirk and a “everything is under control.” 2) we both ordered the duck dish and about half way through our meal our waiter observed that we were struggling to cut through the meat and offered us another set of better knives. That was great, except that it would have been nice to get these when the dish was presented rather then half way through. 3) we finished our mains at 9pm and were hoping for the desert menu, but our waiter never came back to our table to present a menu nor to ask if there was anything else we would like. Finally after having waited for about 10 minutes in vain we decided that this establishment did not deserve anymore of our money and we waived our waiter down for the cheque. 4) while we were paying our young man had the audacity to point out that if we wished to leave a tip where to enter it on the credit card machine. He did that while hovering over us. Needless to say we did not leave any tip (first time we did so during our week in Paris) as we do not believe in rewarding poor service. We left the restaurant and then went to another for a desert and coffee to forget our very poor experience at your establishment.

This place was described as being “hip”, based on our experience I would change that to being “hyped up”, but unfortunately it did not live up to...

Unforgettable Wine Tasting & Food Pairing at Vins des Pyrénées – A Parisian Highlight!

Our wine tasting with Eric at Vins des Pyrénées was an absolute triumph, far surpassing our expectations! What we anticipated as a simple wine tasting transformed into an intimate, educational, and indulgent evening of exceptional wines, exquisite food, and French wine culture. Eric’s passion for wine is infectious, and he shares his knowledge of France’s wine regions, grape varieties, and tasting techniques in a warm, approachable way. His cellar is a treasure trove of outstanding wines, and he skillfully tailored each pour based on our reactions, making the experience feel personalized and exclusive. The food pairings were phenomenal! We savored platters of artisanal cheeses with warm, crusty bread, alongside foie gras, pâté en croûte, and the standout—mind-blowing duck confit croquettes. Dessert was a divine chocolate mousse with a sprinkle of sea salt, elevating every bite. Each dish complemented the wines perfectly, creating a symphony of flavors. Beyond the food and wine, Eric’s engaging storytelling about French wine history and pairing tips made the evening both fun and enlightening. The intimate setting felt like a special, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our only regret? Not booking this earlier in our trip or scheduling a second session! Thank you, Eric and Vins des Pyrénées, for an unforgettable Parisian evening. We highly recommend this experience to anyone...

Don’t go here. If I could give zero stars I would. We went here and were excited to get in without a reservation based on all the good reviews. But the service and food was equally terrible. The portions are so sad as well. Be prepared to leave hungry. The wine was good but we never got our second glasses even though we were charged for them. We ordered the octopus and shrimp salad, and the duck entree. The octopus and shrimp salad was flavorless and it had One shrimp which was over cooked and rubbery, same as the octopus. Poor quality ingredients with no real thought or flavor at all. The duck was very gamey and cooked well done, even though we had ordered it medium rare. We immediately told our server about the duck and she basically just stared at us and then said oh well. We told another server and they said oh sorry but no resolution or compensation. I hate paying for a bad meal. What a waste. Overall It’s chaotic there and no attention to you or the food quality. We ended up going to Le Temps Des Cerises and had a burger and fries which was absolutely delicious and an amazing experience!! Would 10/10 recommend Le Temps Des Cerises!! But save yourself the wasted time and money and DO NOT go to Vins Des Pyrénées.
