I’ve rated this review as 1 star, because it is not possible to give it no stars at all. It was dirty with mould growing in the wardrobe, pokey tiny rooms with uncomfortable small beds each with a single pillow which was the smallest pillow I have ever seen on a bed anywhere, a smelly, poorly ventilated bathroom, and nowhere to adequately store clothing. We couldn’t even keep our clothes in our suitcases because there wasn’t enough room to put the suitcases on the floor (we stored them out on the balcony.) If one person wanted to open the door to get into the bathroom or out of the room, the other 2 people had to sit in bed. ||The reception area, lounge and sauna were only available for a limited period in the late afternoon/early evening and were locked up all other times. There was supposed to be staff on duty at certain times, but often there would just be a sign on the counter saying there were no staff available. The hotel website advertises the George bar and restaurant on the premises, and I have been to this bar a long time ago. But apparently it closed down some time last year and now looks quite bare and sorry for itself. You certainly won’t be getting a drink from here - it is open only for breakfast. No problem, we could buy a bottle of wine and sit in the lounge instead….. so we thought, but the lounge is locked up at 7pm meaning the only place to sit in the hotel is no longer available to guests. We were informed that sometimes the hotel attracts the sort of clientele that did not use the lounge in a polite manner, so the owner had taken the decision to lock it up to keep the rough clientele out of the lounge when no staff were present (which was most of the time.) You cannot sit in your room as it is too small for chairs, and cannot sit in bed because there is a bizarre shelf a foot above the head of the beds so you can’t even sit up in bed (and there are only the tiny pillows anyway, so very uncomfortable.) There is no other option but to go out on the town, which is fine if you are up for a night out. But the hotel advertises itself as family friendly - if you had visited with children (as we did) it’s not actually very family friendly at all to have to go out to the bars in town each evening. The advertised sauna is only open between 4pm and 7pm too - I did not get the chance to look at it, because I did not arrive back from skiing each day until 6.30pm. ||The hotel internet did not work at all. At breakfast, the coffee machine did not work either. There was another coffee machine behind the bar, and one member of staff insisted that coffee machine did not work so there was no coffee, but then the cleaner walked in, made himself a coffee with the forbidden machine, and rather unprofessionally sat down in the breakfast room to have his break. This was the cleaner who later accused us of filming him in our bedroom with a camera he could only have known about by going through our belongings, and the fact that I had left my bag zipped up before I left the room for the day but it was unzipped when I returned suggested our belongings were not safe. There is no hotel safe. ||Our repeated requests to speak with a manager were constantly met with ‘the manager is not here at the moment, they will be here later. Eventually, the day we were accused of filming the cleaner (just to be clear, 1. I would not do this, and 2. I couldn’t have done this anyway because my camera turns itself off after a few minutes of inactivity) and the staff ganged up on us, we decided to leave there and then. We were told we would not be given a refund as we were leaving of our own volition.||I have never stayed in a worse run hotel, and I stay in a lot of hotels with work,...
Read moreThe only good thing about this “hotel” is the location. |It’s 2 minutes walk from the Chevannes chair and right in the middle of the village next to the supermarket and restaurants. |The rooms are tiny. |I booked a twin room to stay 5 nights for my son and myself. |What we got in reality was a very small room (A single in comparison to anywhere else) with two tiny single beds in it. |There is no where to sit in the room and chill other than lie on the bed but make sure you don’t hit your head on the wooden rail at head height on the wall! |Without doubt the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! ||Wardrobe space and clothes storage is limited to a narrow wardrobe and a cupboard with shelves. |I was told by the person who checked us in to display the “please service my room” banner on the door if we wanted the room serviced / cleaned each day. |We did that each day and after the 3rd day of our room not being touched I complained and requested the room be cleaned and new towels. |To be fair to the person working on reception who also covered breakfasts - was very helpful and said she would sort it. |We got our towels but the rest of the room remained untouched including the contents of the bin I’d emptied 3 times and no replacement toilet rolls. ||The breakfasts are adequate but limited. |The person running breakfast looked very stretched doing everything on her own and I give her credit for being friendly and helpful in a chaotic environment. ||To top the stay off, I’m writing this at 4:10am on the last day of our stay having been woken up by what sounded like a mass brawl taking place somewhere in the building. ||I love Les Gets but would not...
Read moreWe stayed at Chalet Hotel Regina in what they classified a triple room - we did NOT book a double and ask for an extra single to be put in. The room is just not a triple and should not be sold as such. There is no physical room with the double and single bed which are literally side by side, the only room is literally between the double bed and the bathroom door. The room was boiling, you have to ask for fresh towels and chase for toilet roll and to have the room made up. There is nothing really 'hotel' about this place, it is a basic hotel with the one plus being its location. The walls are wafer thin and we unfortunately stayed next to a revolting family from the UK who spent most of each waking morning shouting and swearing, all totally audible. Staff eat breakfast by the counter where the cheese and meat is set and one staff member used her fingers to take from the buffet place, disgusting. Marc works hard to please guests, however the coffee machine is poor and for E12.50 pp there are better options elsewhere in the town. Between midday and 3pm the lounge area is locked so basically you can either go to your room or have to go elsewhere, my wife was not skiing so the plan for her was to do some work in the day at the chalet, not ideal. Despite it great location i would not stay there again and suggest you...
