Les Copeaux — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

Fabulous Resturant, have been visiting for many years on our holidays to Les Gets. Unfortunately last night we had a very different experience. Food was fabulous apart from one dish, which when mentioned at the end of the meal, was ignored, not even an apology. When questioned as included in the bill, we were told that we should have mentioned earlier, the Lady in the party didn't want to make a fuss and discreetly mentioned as the plates were being cleared. Perhaps if the waitress had checked on us during the meal to make sure everything was ok, it would have been made known! We would normally not make a fuss, but when you are told by three members of staff, that "we don't need you we are full every night" it makes you sit up and take notice of the service we received all evening. I asked if there was somewhere we could hang our coats.... Yes take them to the front porch, not "yes of course let me take them for you". I asked if I could try the house white wine, and I had to ask twice, and the waitress huffed and puffed. Is that such an ordeal? We had to ask for Bread.... nothing was straight forward or smooth as our many previous visits. As we left the Resturant, we were handed 20.00 euro's as we had apparently overpaid...... no they had decided to refund the dish which was not as described, such a shame they didn't handle the polite complaint correctly in the first place.... I suggest the that owner/manager takes a look at staff attitude, as this is totally unacceptable, and such a shame for a...

Exactly how our high expectations imagined it to be. (Family of 5 with adolescents). Super welcome and service, cosy warm but modern chalet-style, great ambience. Food superb. It was super busy but we didn't have to wait for anything. Superb quality ingredients, presented well, masterfully prepared. Delicious. Quality cutlery (always a pleasure). You pay a bit more (at least by our always-on-a-tight-budget standards) but after this wonderful experience gonna be hard to go back to the 'basic...

Nous avons déjeuner aux copeaux un samedi midi . Nous sommes arrivés vers 14h00, le serveur nous a indiqué que l’on pouvait encore manger ( la terrasse était pleine et il y avait pas mal de monde à l’intérieur). On a mangé certe , mais au lance pierre vu la cadence imposée : le serveur nous donne la carte et attend qu’on lise et commande illico … on prend 2 plats du jour et on demande des rapins et du vin blanc en guise d’apéritif . 5mn après ( je n’exagère pas) on nous sert les plats , après arrive les rapins et 10 mn après le vin. .. c’est donc mort pour l’apéro . Je dois renvoyer ma tartiflette car elle est froide …. Elle devait traîner dans la cuisine.. on nous octroyer une quinzaine de minutes pour gober le plat , a peine la dernier fourchette posée on nous enlève les assiettes avec un «  café dessert ? ». Vu l’ambiance j’ai dit «  nous on ne voudrai pas vous déranger » - réponse du serveur : » bon addition alors » . La note est arrivé 1 minute après ( je pense qu’elle était déjà prête ). Temps total entre arrivée et départ 30 minutes . ( plus rapide qu’un cantine ) J’ai demandé à voir la patronne , on m a répondu qu’elle n’était pas là … Nous allions souvent dans ce resto , nous n’irons plus .
