We were extremely disappointed in our stay at this hotel. We unfortunately arrived in the middle of a heat wave which compounded our negative experience.
I'll start with the good things: -Location is excellent and the shuttle service is great -Staff were friendly -Starbucks, but not because it's Starbucks. As a visitor from North America, I really enjoyed my travels in Europe not visiting Starbucks and drinking local coffees and enjoying local cafes, bakeries and restaurants. The reason we loved the Starbucks was because it was the only place in the hotel to get a meal that wasn't pizza or wasn't a buffet (see negative things below). It was also a reliable place to get ice so we could have cold water.
Negative things: Don't be deceived by the cute outward appearance of this hotel. The interior is dated and showing its age. The stairs up to the "1st floor" (2nd floor) creaked so badly I felt badly for the people who had rooms near them. It gave an interesting effect though that made me feel like I was in an old Western building built in the 1800's but I don't think that's the effect they were going for. The stairs were missing carpet in some areas exposing the plywood underneath which just looked bad. -There is no elevator. We had large suitcases as we had been traveling Europe for a few weeks. We had to pick them up, sorry, drag them up the stairs to our room. When we left we opted for an easier mode of transport down the stairs, put them on their side and slide them down. This is probably why the stairs are in such bad shape since we probably aren't the first people to do that. -The room technically has A/C but don't expect your room to be cool. We were there in a heat wave and I suspect all A/C units were having trouble keeping up. The staff will tell you there is some law preventing them from allowing the units to go below 20 degrees Celsius but our last hotel in Paris did not seem to be aware of that law because our rooms there were delightfully cold. With our A/C bottomed out at 20, the meagre cold air coming from it cooled only the immediate area underneath it. The room was stifling. There was a ceiling fan that didn't generate any air movement and the window opens only about 2 inches so trying to get cool overnight air was impossible. -There is no refrigerator making it impossible to keep water cold or keep any kind of food we had cold. -There was a tiny bench kind-of couch thing. The rooms were on the small side (which is fine. I'm just there to sleep since I'm in Disneyland all day) but it looked like they didn't know what to do with this tiny space so installed this bench. They provide a coffee maker so imagine yourself sipping your morning coffee on this little bench. It was not practical. I opted instead to drink my morning coffee outside on the picnic tables nearby (and enjoy the cooler air since my room was a sauna). -The hotel is more like a "motel". To get to your rooms from the reception you have to drag your luggage potentially very far outside until you get to your building. For us in the heat, it was terrible. It would also be uncomfortable in the rain or freezing cold. -Food options. There is a buffet at 40€ per person, a saloon where you can get drinks or a pizza, and Starbucks (refer back to my positive comment). We tried the buffet on our first day only because we were exhausted and wanted a proper meal and not a sandwich from Starbucks or a pizza. We are a family of 4 and even though my kids eat like birds we still had to pay the full price. I had one kid that ate only a salad and the other only a few pieces of chicken. It was very American style eating and not what I was expecting in Europe. After that we chose breakfast at Starbucks (4 of us could get drinks and food at Starbucks for less than what it cost one person at the buffet) and dinners off site in the parks. That being said, the food at the buffet was good. We just couldn't eat the volume of food to cover the...
Read moreI recently stayed at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne with my five-year-old son, and sadly, our experience was far from the magical Disney standard I expected.||||Upon arrival, I was given a room on the first floor despite it being clear in my booking that I was travelling alone with a small child. This meant I had to carry a 23kg suitcase, a pushchair and an additional bag up the stairs by myself. No assistance was offered.||||The room itself was unbearably hot. The air conditioning unit was blowing hot air, making it impossible to sleep even with two fans. When I raised the issue, the only solution offered was to change rooms after park closing hours—around 1 a.m.—on the second night. My child was already asleep, and they expected me to bring all my luggage down to reception in the middle of the night, alone. I asked for help with the heavy suitcase and was told there was no staff available for that. I had to cut our day short at the park on the third day just to be able to return early enough to arrange a room change.||||Only after a lot of insistence and asking for help from luggage services did I manage to move to a new room. I had to ask the reception staff to escort me between rooms because they refused to issue keys for both rooms, even temporarily. The new room was significantly better—cool, clean and smelling fresh. It was obvious then that the previous room’s air conditioning was broken and uninhabitable.||||At no point did the hotel apologise or offer any kind of gesture for the discomfort we endured for two out of our five nights. Not even something small for my son, like a sticker. The overall service felt cold, unhelpful and frankly dismissive.||||Security at the hotel is also concerning. While bags are checked every time you enter the lobby, anyone can board the free shuttle buses to the hotel. One day I had to leave my son sleeping in his pushchair while I carried bags upstairs. When I came back down, a strange man was standing near him. As soon as he saw me, he pretended to enter a room but never did—he eventually left the building. I didn’t feel safe, and the hotel’s security protocol is clearly flawed.||||In addition, my park tickets would not link to the app. I was told to go to City Hall daily to get paper tickets, which contained long reference codes that I had to enter manually each time. This prevented me from booking popular meet-and-greets like Stitch, which sell out in minutes. Despite raising the issue with both City Hall and the hotel, neither provided a solution.||||To top it off, my son’s large Jessie doll—which we brought from the UK—went missing from our hotel room. I reported it immediately, but staff were unhelpful and told me to come back the next day, which I couldn’t do as we were checking out early. No lost item report was even logged because they said it had been missing for more than a day. I find this unacceptable; it’s not realistic to do a full belongings check in your room every day.||||Overall, while some staff were friendly, the hotel’s systems and policies make proper service nearly impossible. I left feeling that problems were treated as my fault rather than issues the hotel should have resolved. For the price, the experience was deeply disappointing and far below Disney...
Read moreI stayed here for a week with my daughter on our trip to Paris in June 2023. Disneyland was our main attraction so the hotel and package worked out really well for us (expensive but worth it).
Location: It is outside Paris, but right next to Disneyland - the bus ride takes less than 2 minutes and there is a bus going back and forth every 10 minutes or so. The main RER/ train station Marne La Vallee is also right next to Disneyland entrance, and takes 30 minutes to get to central Paris.
I booked the Magic express to get to the hotel from CDG airport, but it was quite complicated as I had to go to another terminal with my luggage, find the bus stop and then board it - then it took an hour to reach our hotel. Whereas for the return to CDG airport, I discovered that a TGV gets you there in 10 minutes direct from Marne La Vallee and was cheaper than the Magic shuttle (30 EUR for me and my daughter).
Rooms: Our room was perfect - a bit tight but OK for the 2 of us. Comfortable beds and bedding, clean and good bathroom. I had requested it to be close to the reception which was convenient. Only there wasn't an iron in the room but I was too lazy/ tired to ask for one so I wore my clothes un-ironed :D
One thing missing in the rooms was replenishing the water bottles. We got a big one the first day but when we returned on Day 2, there was no water. So I ended up buying 500ml water bottles for 4 EUR each - outside you can get them for 1 EUR. Every day I had to bring back water with me which was a nuisance. (The soap bar, on the other hand, was replaced every day, although we could have used the same for 2-3 days!)
Food: I had included all you can eat breakfast in my package and it was a really good buffet. There is also a saloon and a Starbucks on the hotel premises. The Dinner buffet was very expensive so never tried it (40 EUR adult and 22 EUR child) but we did order pizza from the saloon a couple of times which was good.
Laundry: There is a laundry room in the hotel premises (very convenient and much more reasonable than a laundry service!), but it only has 2 washers and 2 dryers. Coins can be purchased from the hotel. I went in the evening (730pm) and had to wait 40 minutes to get a free washing machine, then 40 minutes for the wash and another 30 minutes for the drying. Perhaps the wait times would be less in the day, but then who would want to do laundry in the daytime instead of enjoying Disneyland and Paris?
Other facilities: The hotel is designed as an old wild west town and has a good community like feel. While I was doing laundry my daughter made friends and they were happily playing together on the "main street".
There is a play area for kids but it is very basic and could be improved. There are many gardens etc. for walking around in, but not much to write home about. A swimming pool would be a great addition. There are pony rides in the morning but we never went for them.
I fell and hurt myself upon arrival and a very helpful first aider came to clean and bandage my wound. Service overall was good although the queue at check in could be...
