Berliner Bier-Akademie — Restaurant in Berlin

My partner and I were in Berlin recently and visited this pub on several occasions. We fell in love with the casual coziness of the place and the very friendly helpful staff, always ready to oblige. Also to the lad there who helped me with the use of their WIFI so I could sit back in comfort with either a cuppa or a wine and keep in touch with my family in Australia. The lady who ran the pub was beautiful and I am sorry we didn't get back for one last farewell as planned. To the nice local guy who bought me a vodka shot to try, thank you. Terrible service: I wanted to pay with card for a beer, but the bartender said that they only accept cash. This is fine I thought and counted change in pocket, but the bartender rudely demanded that I pay with a 2 EUR coin which she glimpsed in a wallet. I asked the person what is the difference if they are only gonna give the coins to a bank later anyway, and she told us to give it to the bank ourselves. One of the worst places I have ever been. the waitress was borderline and ungrateful. Later when we have gone to pay, she alone, without asking, has collected her own tip without asking. I am a waitress in Switzerland, and I have never seen a waitress collect her own tip. Of shame. I would never go back.
