Obermuehle 4S Alpin SPA Resort — Hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The best hotel I’ve ever visited in Germany! So I’m a regular Garmisch visitor and ski here every 3-4 months and have stayed in majority of hotels in this area and around Germany in general. However this time I’ve booked in Obermuehle to check it out with my girlfriend as it was our anniversary.

As soon as we arrived we had our bags taken from the car to our room by a very friendly concierge. Super friendly staff at the check in and luxurious interior fitting. We booked an executive room with a balcony and Mountain View that’s fully equipped including an Air Conditioner.

The outdoor heated infinity pool offers the perfect temperature to relax and swim even in cold weather (Unlike other hotels that advertise a hot outdoor pool). The Spa area offers different saunas, steam rooms and an outdoor heated jaccuzi leaving you with no other thoughts for an exclusive and luxurious spa.

The breakfast in the morning is just wonderful and refreshing. The dinner in the evening is a top notch 5-course menu that changes every night. The experience offered in the hotel restaurant is second to none and is just perfect. The Kitchen team is doing a wonderful job with preparing the food with a fine dining experience. The service team is very attentive and professional as we were greeted every night by Mr. Daniel that took care of us constantly with a smile. This man needs a raise for sure.

A Cinema room is offered with dimmed lights, speakers and a big screen tv which you can watch Netflix on late in the evening. Also, a big game room that offers a billiard table and other gaming machines.

Also I love the hotel and restaurant staff diversity. Seeing a diverse team coming from different backgrounds to serve a class-A hotel is just wonderful. It is disheartening to see some reviews on here pointing out that some of the staff are not German or ‘cannot speak German’ which in truth is wrong in every aspect. Most staff are more than capable of communicating in German & English or at least are trying their best. Having a diverse team with a diverse background stands out especially in this region of Germany as it’s a touristic hotspot. Respect to the hotel owner and manager for employing such a great team.

I will be visiting again and again as Obermuehle is my number 1 preferred hotel destination to stay at and would definitely recommend it to anyone who would just want to have the best hotel experience in...

Where do I begin? Let's start the staff. Upon arrival the front desk was helpful and gave us all the info about the hotel, meals, spa and room. Then our first night there we went to dinner and I swallowed my drink wrong and all of sudden I had a hard time breathing. I had stridor. The staff made sure I was ok and took me outside to see if that would help. It did a little. Then went to the lobby where the manager of the property Olaf personally make sure I was ok and stayed with me and my husband. We decided to call the ambulance and looking back it wasn't needed. But to be on the safe side. Everything went well. The next day all the staff made sure I ok and checked on me. For dinner the next night, I didn't want to go to the restaurant as I was a little embarrassed so Olaf took our order and personally delivered our meals. So wonderful. The food is very tasty. Thank you to the staff for making sure I was ok.|Now, for the hotel. The room was a great size with a balcony. Just wish it wasn't cloudy so we could see the mountains. The bathroom is a little small but the water pressure in the shower is perfect. The bed was so comfy. |There is a shuttle that can take us where we wanted to go so we booked to the Top of Germany at the hotel and the shuttle took us to the train station and after, we called and he picked us up at the train station. |The spa!!! The spa is great! It has an outdoor heated pool which is so relaxing. Several saunas with different temps. Steam rooms also with different temps too. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub and more saunas. Lounges to relax in and drinks and fruit to stay hydrated. I booked a large suite with living room and two separate double bedrooms to accommodate several guests. Very nice location close to downtown. Rooms were very quiet, with very comfortable beds. Large shower as well. I would suggest to include the toilet in both private bathrooms to avoid some guests having to use the one in the living room. No Netflix available in the rooms.Courteous staff at the front desk and courteous staff during dining. It was nice to see waiting staff that made an effort to speak Italian with us as well , and Alice was really helpful during our stay. All waiters were friendly. Great selection at the breakfast buffet. Lunch and dinner were ok but there's room for improvement. Great relaxation areas with different heated pools inside and outside. And wellness teas available. Very nice spa where you can book different massages. Wi-Fi wasn't the best. It was a hit and miss. The infinity pool outside is for adults only. It would be nice for teenagers to be allowed to access this pool as well while accompanied by adults. I'm glad to read that the owner appreciates his employees and stands up for them when other customers offend the non German staff in their reviews. That's wonderful to see that kind of support !
