Truly Authentic Italian Experience! From the moment you walk into this gem of a restaurant, you're transported straight to Italy. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and elegance, with warm lighting and inviting aromas wafting from the kitchen. The menu is a celebration of classic Italian cuisine — fresh, seasonal ingredients brought together with passion and simplicity. I highly recommend starting your meal with the baby calamari — perfectly tender, lightly crisped, and served with a delicate hint of citrus that elevates the flavor. They were simply divine and a testament to the kitchen's expertise in seafood. I had the pleasure of trying the Vitello Tonnato. The thinly sliced, melt-in-your-mouth veal paired beautifully with the velvety tuna-caper sauce. The combination was elegant, balanced, and every bite felt like a true Italian classic brought to life. The wood-fired pizza had a thin, crispy crust and toppings that tasted like they were flown straight from Naples. Service was impeccable, with knowledgeable staff who made excellent wine recommendations and truly cared about creating a memorable dining experience. To top it all off, the tiramisu was flawless — light, creamy, and just the right balance of coffee and sweetness.

Best Pizza & Tiramisu in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Family-Friendly Italian Restaurant

La Baita in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is easily one of the best Italian restaurants in Bavaria. If you’re searching for authentic pizza in Garmisch-Partenkirchen or “best pizza near me,” this is the place to go. The pizza is outstanding — thin, crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and flavor. It’s the best pizza in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The highlight for dessert is their incredible strawberry tiramisu. It’s light, flavorful, and the perfect way to finish an Italian meal.

On top of the food, the service at La Baita is excellent. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and make you feel right at home. For families, this restaurant is a gem ..they offer kid-friendly food options, high chairs, and comfortable seating, making it one of the best family-friendly restaurants in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

La Baita is a must-visit. Great food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere for both couples...

This was the worst meal we had during our three-week trip to Europe. We came here because it was one of the few places with clearly advertised vegan options in the area, but we were beyond disappointed.

The pasta we ordered (the only vegan one on the menu) was fusilli noodles, a flavorless red sauce that tasted store bought, and partly uncooked, unflavored vegetables that tasted like they'd been dumped out of a bag of frozen veggies. Some were still cold in the middle!

The pizza (also the only vegan one on the menu) was only slightly more flavorful. No vegan cheese though that is widely accessible in Germany these days. The crust was tough and totally bland.

It's really disappointing that this restaurant puts vegan options on its menu but clearly makes ZERO effort to actually make those options even remotely enjoyable. It isn't that hard to make a decent vegan pizza and pasta!

I absolutely cannot recommend this place to anyone interested in...

Excellent Italian food in the heart of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I had the La Biata pizza which is "everything but fish". Cheese, mushrooms, and ham on the entire pizza (those 3 ingredients appear on most of their pizza options) with onions, artichoke, bell pepper, capers, black olives, jalapeno, and salami appearing in their own sections. It's almost like trying 4-5 different pizzas in one sitting. Crust is thin and bendable. The onion soup was excellent, but I'm a sucker for the huge gob of mozzarella that was on top. The eggplant gnocchi had a creamy marinara with mozzarella cubes that melted into the rest of the dish. Plenty of drink choices, but they have a variety of fruit drinks that goes beyond apfelshole. I had apricot, first with mineralwasser and then without. I like apricot nectar so i preferred without, but sparkling apricot juice is good too. Whether you want a traditional Italian dish or an yummy brick oven pizza, you won't go wrong here.

The service here was high above expectations! We were 25 guests and had pre-booked easily by phone two days before. Many thanks to Alessandro who both accepted our booking and made sure we got off to a great start to our stay in Garmisch. The food was fantastic and we were well taken care of from the first step into the restaurant! They also had an incredible number of dishes to choose from and you can be sure that you will find something you like! If you want good food with the best service, I can highly recommend this restaurant! (I’m sad I forgot to take some better pictures)
