Steakhaus Zur Waffenschmiede — Restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The food was ok, nothing special just ok. The sangria was good, I liked it. The weiter was nice. What was the problem? I asked for extra salsa and they charged me 8€ extra without telling me in advance. I complained when we got the bill and they told me that is how it is in Germany, which is totally wrong. I have lived in Germany for 30 years and most of the extra sauce are free or maybe they will charge you a euro or a euro and a half for it but not 4 euros for a little tiny extra saucer (this is why we had two, because the portions was very very tiny). So, after I complained, the owner or manager came to us and told me I had to pay, I told her I will but I wanted her to know that I was not happy. Instead of her being understanding she was rude and ugly, she told me I will never be welcome in the restaurant again (not that I would ever come back), she was just so ugly. The ironic thing is that the weiter actually took the extra 8€ from the bill without the manager even knowing (which was very confusing to me) but she still was so ugly to me even accusing me, as I was leaving, for not leaving a tip for the weiter (which by the way, tips are not required in Germany). I had given the waiter 5€ tip for his service but I guess she didn’t see me doing that. Anyway, I just wanted to share my bad experience in a restaurant where owners/managers believe they are entitled to charge you wherever they want for extras without telling...

During my recent visit to this restaurant, I experienced hands down the best service I've had in Germany! The server was exceptional—attentive, helpful, and always with a smile. It truly made our dining experience memorable.

The food was equally impressive. I ordered a steak, and it was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and exactly how I like it. My husband’s meal was also spot on, showcasing the chef’s skill and attention to detail. To complement our meals, I had a Tequila Sunrise, and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly mixed and refreshing.

The atmosphere in the restaurant added to the overall experience. It was warm, inviting, and had a great vibe that made us feel right at home. The decor was tasteful, and the ambiance was just right for a relaxing evening out.

Overall, this restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. From the outstanding service to the delectable food and wonderful atmosphere, it was a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service. We will definitely...

Wir sind zufällig nochmal nach Garmisch-Partenkirchen rein und da hab ich auf Googlemaps gesehen, dass ein Steakhouse in der Nähe ist.

Wir (2 Erw. Und 1 Kind) haben dann spontan beschlossen einfach mal dort anzufragen, ob wir noch einen Platz bekommen können(17:47 Uhr). Wichtig war es uns, dass es auch für Kinder was zu essen gibt.

Gesagt getan und angerufen, ob es evtl für 18 Uhr noch einen Tisch gibt für uns. Die nette Dame am Telefon hat dann gesagt, es gäbe noch einen Tisch beim Eingang oder wir könnten uns wo dazu setzen.

Wir haben uns für den Tisch beim Eingang entschieden.

Dort angekommen haben wir erstmal die Einrichtung bewundert als wir mit den Worten „Hallo, schön dass ihr bei uns seid“ begrüßt wurden. Allein das ist schon so freundlich und nett!

Uns wurden die Karten gebracht und dazu auch erklärt, dass es Kindermenüs gibt (mega!!!) zB Pfannkuchen mit Apfelmus oder Eis, einem Getränk und einem Eis als Nachspeise oder auch Nuggets. Allein das ist schon mega. Der nette Herr vom Service hat uns dann noch angeboten, uns zu beraten wenn wir die Karten durchgesehen haben. Ausserdem hat er uns drauf hingewiesen, dass unser Essen etwas dauern wird, aber sie das Essen vom Sohnemann bereits früher bringen könnten. Allein das zeigt schon das feine Gespür im Service auch für Eltern.

Als wir ausgesucht hatten hat er uns nochmal ein paar Infos zum Gericht bzw. Zur Kombinationsmöglichkeit gegeben. Was wir dankbar zur Kenntnis genommen hatten.

Das Essen vom Sohn wurde zuerst gebracht, sodass wie später in Ruhe essen konnten. Unsere Wartezeit war nicht wirklich lang, ausserdem hat man überall was zum gucken und staunen.

Wir hatten beide das Steak Mendoza (Rinderhüfte mit Ofenkartoffel, Sour Cream, Knoblauchbaguette und Kräuterbutter) und als Family noch Steakhouse Fries mit Sour Cream.

Die Fries hätte es nicht zwingend gebraucht aber wir wussten ja nicht was uns erwartet aber sie waren nice to have.

Das Steak war ein Traum von der Qualität, der Würzung und der Gargrads (medium). Die Sour cream war fein abgeschmeckt und wurde bis zum letzten Tropfen verputzt. Die Kräuterbutter war sehr sehr sehr fein abgestimmt, das Brot knusprig und die Ofenkartoffel reichhaltig.

Das beste Steak, das ich je gegessen hab und wir haben schon einige probiert. Am liebsten hätte ich die Töpfe und Pfannen ausgestrupft.

Für unseren Sohnemann gab es zum Abschied noch die Schatztruhe wo er sich etwas aussuchen durfte.

Und ich möchte nochmal hervorheben wie freundlich, engagiert und zuvorkommend der Service war. So sieht Kundengewinnung aus.

Zum einen hatten wir einen superschönen letzten Abend als Familie im Urlaub und zum anderen durften wir diese hochkarätige Küche und den Service geniessen.

Wenn wir mal wieder in diese Ecke komme (und das werden wird!) wissen wir wo wir hingehen werden!

Einziger Kritikpunkt: heute nach 2 Tagen zehre ich nur noch von den...
