We booked this last minute as we needed a break. Arrived late due to a flight delayed. Checked in and was shown to our room by the receptionest who was friendly and helpful dumped off our bags and went to the bar for a much needed drink as it was soon to close. Josh, the barman very friendly. We went back to the room and my husband said there is a pool of water on the toilet floor, it was late so neither of us would slip I put the bathmat and a hand towel on the floor to dry it up. We went to bed the room was darkly lit the bedding had seen better days it was a little yellow in colour not crisp white sheets as you would expect. The next morning, the floor dried up. I had no idea where the pool of water had come from, so I put the towels on the floor, ready for room service to pick up. The room was avarage the bedding looked old and did have a tinge of yellow so were the towels i know we were at the end of the season but the we expect better for a 3* hotel. The shower looked like it wanted a good clean. The sink taps looked like they needed a good clean, a lot of limescale. We went to breakfast the breakfast was nice eggs, bacon etc cereal, cakes greek yoghurt fruit and a toaster that you had to put your toast through 3 times to get colour on it. We sat around the pool furniture a bit old and looked nothing like the pictures around the pool the it needed weeding and the bushes need cutting back. We went back to the room to shower. It was 5pm, and housekeeping had just been in and only empty the bins. The wet towels were still on the floor. I showered the shower if you turned up the tap the shower shot out of the holder and went everywhere the toilet roll holder was broken and a plug near the sink was blocked off for safety thankfully. The next day we went to Reception to ask if we could have clean towels I was asked when did you arrive I said yesterday and was told if you are here for 7 days the towels and bedding would be changed on the 5 day seem a bit pointless when you only have 2 days left it should be done in the middle of your stay. I explained about the pool of water and the towels we had used and he said okay I will get housekeeping to bring you some towels. 4.45pm I was just about to go to reception to see where my clean towels were when a male housekeeper came and bought us fresh towels and empty the bins again he was nice and said if you need anything please ask me. Later on in the week, we thought we would sit on the patio it was very dusty. I had to wipe down the seats with wipes before we could sit on them, and the floor was mucky as well the bushes were overgrown we were on the ground floor we didn't stop out long and went in. We then realised the patio door didn't lock on reporting this. We were told the door was new, but we said it doesn't lock. It wasn't repaired whilst we were there. There was a ceiling light that had exposed wires in the bedroom. The wardrobe was just a cupboard. There was a kettle, cups and two glasses but no tea, coffee or milk so you must have had to go out and buy your own. This hotel is NOT a 3* hotel. We were very disappointed. Also it is missing making money as they only do lunches until 4pm and as I said the food was nice so people if they didn't go out on an evening as it was a bit of a walk to the nearest restaurants they were getting Josh the barman to order takeaways for them? We stopped in Santorini at a 3* hotel with jet 2, and it was far superior...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe arrived late in the evening after a delayed flight and just after a storm. Really just wanted a shower after a travelling and a comfortable bed. What we were faced with was the complete opposite. We were greeted by a welcoming receptionist who showed us to room 214. I just don't know where to start! There was a dirty shower cubicle with a mixer tap with shower attachment that had nowhere for the shower head to attach to wall. The sink was vile. Taps scaled up. Dirty hand/fingerprints on the doors. Light fitting thick dust. Mould in bathroom, outside light that didn't work. The room was small and generally basic, which would be ok if it was clean and looked anything like the pictures online provided by Jet2 when we booked!
We immediately requested to be moved to another room. They refused even after admitting other rooms were avaliable, they would not change us, due to other guests arriving the following day. The best they offered was to put up a showerhead attchment on the wall the next day.
We had no choice but to stay there for the night. We hardly slept as the bed was rock hard. Had to go back to reception to ask for things that were listed as being included in the room like a hairdryer, mugs etc they provided both on request, however, the hairdryer was a tiny small travel one that had very little power.
In the morning we decided that are only here for 7 days and we weren't prepared to waste anymore of our well deserved holiday this terrible hotel.
I tried to contact our rep the previous evening with no luck, only getting through to the Jet2 24/7 messaging service. Sent a message and waited for a response. Didn't receive anything until the following morning advising they had past our concerns to our local rep and could not guarantee when they would contact us!
We went down to breakfast promptly at 8am. Breakfast was basic and edible. However, luke warm. My husband described the coffee as tasting 'like misery'.
After breakfast, I set about finding alternative accommodation. We checked out by 10.20am. We are now staying in a lovely apartment up the road and hopeful for our remaining 6 days here in Kefalonia. We eventually heard from our rep at 15.34 the following day! She had heard from the hotel first that we had checked out, not from Jet2! If we had not been proactive in relocating ourselves, 1 day out of our 7 days had already passed. Even then, she said that Jet2 have nothing to do with the hotel. Not entirely sure what she could have done to help us, at that...
Ā Ā Ā Read more2 star hotel that has a rating of 4 stars so you will pay an extra tourist tax for your stay which will become quite hefty depending on how many days and rooms you have and to me is a scam!. However, the rooms were basic but adequate for our breakfast only stay with air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities but nothing there to make them with so bring or buy your own coffee, sugar etc or you need to ask staff for them which seems an annoying procedure to go through for a drink in your room. Breakfast menu was reasonable and started the day well for the usual walking to most places you'll do with being a small quiet area. The nearest walk to beach (ammes) was a great place to spend time in the sea and do some snorkeling around the rocks there with planes flying just above you arriving at the airport. The snack bar/restaurants just a little walk on the way to the beach are nice places to eat and drink whilst watching the sunset with some excellent food eaten on our stay. I'd say the hotel is the place for the older reserved type and probably why I've seen reviews regarding being with kids an issue, maybe. Even I was wary with my loud 3 and they're 30 odd š. All in all, we had a good stay here and staff were helpful with first taxi arrangement and then we got a regular taxi driver for the rest of our trips around the island. We never used the pool as the surrounding beaches were fantastic. So for our bed and breakfast it was ideal as we were out all day and night sampling the delights of the island. For the price we paid and not really expecting 4 star accommodation and relying on the package holiday rating of 3 stars we had a pleasant stay. Tip: have swimming/beach shoes packed for your...
