Poseidon Apartments — Hotel in Argostoli Municipality

We’ve just returned from a very hot week in Skala. I have been to this resort many times over the past 25 years and stayed in various accommodations. I consider myself to be well versed on Greek standards, I am not criticising unduly. |The Poseidon was clean, comfortable beds and large rooms. |However, I would not recommend for anyone with walking restrictions as they are a good walk up a steep slope from the beach. I struggled in the heat. We then had 3 flights of stairs to climb. I did ask for a room on a lower floor but was told the rooms were all booked and those on the lower floors were for parties of 3 or more. I contacted the rep but never received a reply. I really struggled after walking from the beach. There was quite a bit of noise from a nearby bar which I was told was only 1 night a week but it was every night until late. The bathroom flooded after every shower as the shower tray was small and the shower curtain offered no protection. There was a very grubby mop and bucket but as the floor was tiled it was extremely slippy so care must be taken. We had a late 5.45 pick up but had to vacate the room by 10am so had no where to shower. We were offered a store room to change in. I would like to add that we had a taxi transfer from the airport on arrival (our choice). Returning to the airport we had the coach but had to lug our cases and bags down the cobbled street about 150 yards. Again I could not recommend for anyone with any disabilities. |I would say that the accommodation was, by Greek standards, ok but would highly recommend somewhere closer to the beach especially in high season. 😊: Hamper and bottle of wine and water was a nice touch, Family was friendly. Nice Comfy Bed with mosquito net.Helped us with our luggage on arrival. Location was excellent near to restaurants, cafes and shops and beach. Parking in road.. 😢: Four flights of stairs and four half flights of stairs and no lift, not good for us as nearly 65 and 70 years. Effie and husband did help us with our luggage on arrival which was appreciated. Description said balcony terrace garden so we thought it was on the lower floor not top floor in Attic. Apartment was very basic and outdated especially bathroom, Tiny shelf for prep area. No washing up liquid or anything to wash dishes. No proper sofa only very small futon. Terrace with artificial grass...

We just got back from these great apts|There are in a great spot on a side street just off pedestrians road next to pharmacy//medical centre ||We were lucky and got room 8 on 2nd floor with a view of the sea in the distance. It was lovely to chill on our large balcony ||These apts are obviously older,but they are spotlessly clean,thanks to the lovey cleaning lady |The owners were very friendly and helpful...|We had a one bedroom apt for 3 and I slept on sofa bed in kitchen..it was super comfy my friend's said the double bed in the bedroom was as well|The towels and sheets were changed mid week and where super crisp and white|We had a great visit and would...
