Makis Grillhouse — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

Makis Grillhouse is the BEST restaurant in all of Skala. Delicious daily specials. Offering meat cooked on a spit, grilled and oven (their Kefalonian Meat pie is delicious and authentic). Ask Makis for Vegan and Vegetarian options. They have many choices if you ask. They have the best dips and their tzatziki is the best I’ve ever had. They also have Mythos Beer on draft 🍺. Much of their produce is from their own fields. And save room for sweets! It’s located away of the busy Main Street on a nice residential street just off of Main Street. Reservations are recommended during peak season or during the busy dinner hour. We always arrive early or later, and have always been able to get a table. Makis and his family are spectacular hosts and will always make you feel welcome. And after a few visits you will feel like family and like you are coming home. Wonderful! Not only were our bellies full but our hearts too. Markis Grill house took us back to how restaurants used to be in Skala. Traditional seating, traditional music, traditional wine glasses, family run, excellent food & treated as friends. We could not fault any of the food(we tried pork, lamb, goat all cooked on the spit) the homemade moussaka was the best I have ever eaten. The prices were very good & the portion sizes were very large! We were even given free Greek lessons by Markis (thank you). I would recommend to anyone to try this restaurant on your holiday, you'll be glad you did. Hopefully we will be back in Skala one day & we will definitely be visiting Markis...

A short distance away from the town centre where all the majority of the restanrants, taverna's and bars are located, but one of the best we've found since arriving in Skala last sunday (13/08/23). We shared a tzatziki for starters and i had the lamb shank, which is in the menu as Roast Lamb, and my wife had the lamb chops, of which there was 4 on the plate. The lamb, who's shank i had must have been a giant, it was huge, it was the first time i had this without any gravy and i have to say it won't be the last, it was just the meat juices and herbs and the taste was excellent.
