Mazi — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

2 stars because finally we did not have to pay. We went there to have a nice dinner with my friend following recommendation of our host. We sat at a table and waited about 15 mins to see someone to get our drink and appetiser order. We waited another 15 mins to get the appetiser without the drinks. We asked the waiter about the drinks who said its coming. Another 30 mins waiting, no one realised we are waving. Finally they noticed someone wants them. We asked for the bill. We did not have any glasses or drinks on the table, no basket with bread only the plates with the rest of our appetiser. The guy throw the bill in front of me which was completely wrong. It had bread and drinks on it. So I got up and went inside. I did not want to wait another 30 mins to get this sorted. The guy was surprised we did not get bread and drinks. Finally he said our appetiser was on the house and apologised. I understand that the restaurant was busy, but waiting staff should pay more attention to the guests. Bad...

I would give them more stars, if possible. All my life I thought I did not like seafood. And then I ate the fried calamari at Mazi. Absolutely delicious! Also, the dishes are completely different from the regular souvlaki and gyros you can find everywhere, and they use local ingredients, all fresh and carefully selected. For some special greek food, amazingly tasty, I highly recommend Mazi, even if it can be a bit more expansive, depending on what you order. We did not order bread or water but we receive it. We assumed it was free but actually we got them on the bill at the end. As an advise just inform the customers that bread and water they receive and are not for free. Bread is mentioned to cost 0,8 euro/person but has to be ordered not placed directly on the table. We would have paid but we would have liked to know from the beginning. Food was not the greatest as recommended, I am afraid. Pork ribs were full of spices that formed a crust and not tasty. I do appreciate the fact that a nice lady talked with us in Romanian and took our order. Other than this, I couldn't find the greek charm...
