Quick check in, friendly, helpful, professional staff. Felt welcomed. We stayed in room 406 top floor with a balcony which looked over to the port. I think it may have been one of the upgraded ones some reviewers have spoken about.didnt look dull. bathroom looked modern enough to me and was seperate from the sleeping/lounge room. Shower was great and had a proper shower curtain with showerhead hook , unlike some hotels we reviewed.Cleaners came in everyday. Aircon was really good, nice big flat screen TV with English speaking films to watch, didn't check out much else. Mini fridge which was perfect for 2 people.'d give the room cleanliness a 4/5, if I'm being picky the little lights above each bed could have been dusted down and the side table with the dusty phone, but I didn't care tbf. I've worked as a chamber maid and know how much pushed for time employers put on. The furniture in the room was all wooden including the beds, all looked antiqueish, but we're in good order. The beds though was a bit firm for both of us, but still didn't have a problem getting to sleep. I didn't here anything from neighbouring rooms at all. Noise was obvious when opening the balcony, overlooking a sometimes busy roundabout, so road traffic but no speeding no aggressiveness. We quite enjoyed watching how people were using the roundabout and overlooking the ferries coming in and out and the sun setting etc. Access to old town is less than 15 minutes walk. We took advantage of the ferries opposite us and had a day trip to mainland Greece. They do breakfast at the hotel buffet style. £15 euros each. We tried it once it was not bad. I liked the seating areas near reception/bar and also the front of the hotel. Lift is tiny and gives you a little judder when it stops at a floor, but we found that amusing. We felt very safe in Corfu and felt our belongings in the room were too. We stayed 8 nights and had a lovely holiday. Supermarket 5 mins walk away, takeaways restaurant and bars around all the way to old town. I did wish though they provided a safe either in the rooms or pigeon hole style safes at reception. Will I go back? Definitely if I was to go back to the same resort. Oh well also asked for a coffee our last morning so we could drink it outside to wait for our pick up, and was given it...
Read moreAh, the Atlantis Hotel, Corfu—a charmingly eccentric establishment that could well be mistaken for the set of a Netflix thriller. In fact, if you’ve seen Cecil Hotel, you might get a sense of déjà vu. The comparison? Where to begin? The faint whiff of mystery (or was it mildew?) that greets you as you enter your room, the aircon that could easily double as a Victorian ghost-summoning device, and the lift—oh, the lift! It’s like a relic from another era, suitable for a romantic ride if you’re on close terms with your travel companion. Very close.||Now, don’t get me wrong, the hotel is good… if you’re after a bit of a ghostly adventure. The cleanliness, let’s say, wasn’t the star of the show. The air in my room was a special mix of eau de ancient history and something that would likely trigger an asthma attack if you so much as glanced at the air conditioner. Ideal if you’re testing your lung capacity, not so ideal if you’re not.||But, dear fellow traveller, I digress. The pièce de résistance of the Atlantis? Its location. You’re a stone’s throw from the dock—perfect for a quick escape should things get too spooky. I stayed here as a pit stop on my way to Albania and can confirm it’s ideal for one night of ghost hunting (or maybe two if you’re into that sort of thrill).||In summary: not for the faint of heart, but utterly delightful if you’ve ever fancied yourself a paranormal investigator with a penchant for old-world quirkiness. Would I stay again? Perhaps, if I had my sage and holy...
Read moreI will just start with the only thing that is good with this hotel: the location if you have to go to the port to get the ferry. Now let's talk about how bad this place is. First of all it looks like they remained in the 70's, but not because they wanted to have a vintage design, it is because it seems they haven't changed anything since 50 years ago!!! I don't blame the workers and concierge, they just work them so it is not their fault. My girlfriend booked online and the pictures they post doesn't reflect the reality of how the place looks, the room was small, the bed was super uncomfortable, it was similar if I were sleeping on a wooden table, everything inside the room looked cheap and serioulsy old. The walls are probably made of layers of paper, so we could hear a bunch of teenagers shouting, laughing, drinking and say stuff that for decency I can not report here. No one came to ask them to be quiet and I am sure the whole floor could hear them. The price for this cave man hotel was super high compared to what you get, and you can clearly hear the airplanes landing on the island and the huge noise they make because of course the fittings are from after the 2nd world war probably. Worst expeirience ever in Corfu, I will definetely not coming back and I will make sure to tell everyone I know to don't ever go to this "Hotel". I can't believe people can give this place 5 star and if I could give 0.5 I will and give the .5 only because is basically 1 minute walking...
