Thank you very much Nikos and Kostas, we had a great stay in Stala village, near Chania city. The flight was late, so the hosts arranged our transfer from the airport to the hotel, everything was on time, quality and fast. A pleasant surprise - the hosts left water in the room. Artemis Hotel is not on the first line of the coast, but very close. After crossing the street, the best beach in Crete can be found not far away - sand and sea, no stones, very safe for children. Artemis staff were very friendly, the rooms are cleaned daily, the pool is great and clean, the room has everything a tourist needs for relaxation. There is a bus stop nearby on Artemis Street, but there is no information, so you need to coordinate with the owners of the nearby shops and cafes in advance the bus times and when the public transport runs. Kostas and I discussed and quickly agreed on the issues of renting a car for 3 days and traveling to the Samaria Gorge. And again, everything was very smooth and high quality. Tickets can be bought from the bus drivers. The people of Crete were very friendly and try to help. Therefore, you can safely go to Balos Lagoon by public transport, but you need to buy cruise ship tickets online in advance. I recommend buying tickets online for the Labyrinth of Knossos (Heraklion), because there are huge queues at the ticket office. Near Artemis, there are many small supermarkets and cafe OPA, where the food is fantastically tasty and the service is pleasant. A big THANK YOU to the owners of Artemis, I really recommend Artemis to everyone. Darius and Rasa...

We stayed at the hotel in the second half of July. The rooms were basic but clean, cleaned daily, towels were changed, and the air conditioning worked.

The shower was small - larger people might find it uncomfortable.

The kitchenette was tiny. We didn't cook, as there are plenty of restaurants nearby with very good food.

We had breakfast at the hotel - the same every day, but there was plenty to choose from. Eggs, cheeses, cold cuts, fresh fruit and vegetables.

The staff was friendly; it was clear that everyone worked hard and cared about the guests and the property.

The hotel pool was clean, and there were always free lounge chairs. There were rubber pool toys for children.

You could borrow beach umbrellas at the reception.

The location was close to a very nice, wide beach.

In summary - very good value for money, we will definitely return.

Thank you and we...

We booked a 5-night stay but left after one night due to the lack of air conditioning and mosquito nets/screens in the bedroom. We had to sleep with the windows closed and the bedroom door open to get cool air from the unit installed in the kitchen. The hotel is rated 2 stars, and the manager deemed one air conditioning unit sufficient for a two-room apartment. We still had to pay for two nights due to the contract cancellation terms. In August, a partially air-conditioned apartment is quite inconvenient, and leaving immediately does not constitute a violation of the contract from the customer's end. This reflects poor service delivery from the hotel owner. I would not recommend this hotel to those who cannot...

Very nice place. The owners are so kind and friendly, everything is clean and beautiful. Breakfast buffet is from 8 till 10 and you will find everything you need. You can have your breakfast in the small breakfast romm or outside near the pool bar. The pool is very nice and they clean it every day. Next to the hotel there are a lot of shops, bars and restaurants and the beach of Stalos is just a 5 minute walk away. Stalos is a good starting point for side trips. Also the whole staff is friendly and they help you with everything you need. We had the room 26, it was beautiful- maybe the best one in this small hotel. All the best for Niko and his family - see you again.

Really nice place to stay at. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, they have everything you would need, cooking equipment, toiletries, large balcony, comfy beds and pillows, A/C, wifi (not too fast but does the job). I’m only pointing these out because there are 4* hotels on the island that do not meet any of this criteria. The pool is large and you can use it all night although the lights go out at midnight (most other hotels close their pools around 7-8pm). There is also a friendly cat who came to our balcony pretty frequently so if you don’t like cats it may not be the place for you, otherwise definitely recommended.
