A few words before my opinion: we traveled a lot of less touristic areas before Stalos, and we noticed that as soon as there are more tourists, some things change. There is no free table water, prices are higher and service is a mixed bag. the waiter seemed very stressed and did not pay much attention while taking our order. Luckily another waitress noticed that we didnt order extra bread to our grilled feta and tzaziki, since we thought they would serve some. So we got additional pita. Sadly the food was okay but lacked a little in taste, it was the worst tzaziki in 3 weeks crete :( the feta was alright, but its not amazing, tbh. maybe we should have said something but when the waiter came and asked if all is good, he was gone as quickly as he came. But the very friendly waitress is great! She was very nice and helpful (saved us from not having bread with the meals that need it) and did give us a welcoming feeling. The prices are a little high. Compared to a lot of well rated Restaurants in Kissamos, which is only a few km further west, a cocktail is 1-2 euros more expensive, a green tea (bag, no honey) costs 2.50. The size of the dishes is normal, prices are ok. Would have givem 3.5 stars but since we would really rather go somewhere else, I could not bring myself to round up.

The restaurant is ok. I am assuming the lady is the owner or related to the owner who gave attentive and caring service. I ordered a bottle of wine and they recommended sardines which is not the the menu. The sardines were over cooked and too hard, but the mixture of lemon, olives oil, red onions and spring onions were amazing! The real to die for dish is the Bekri Meze also known as the drunken pork stew, a great local dish. I would highly recommend and it goes very well with white wine. Even as I am written a few days after and just had my meal, I so very wish to have a real bite! It’s a solid 9/10! Food 8/10, service 7/10, ambience 7/10, value for money 8/10.

The beachside bar is superb for an evening drink, beautiful sunset views across the sea. We also ate at the restaurant, a good varied menu, excellent quality food, the house red wine is superb. A nice and personal touch was the complimentary ice cream and raki at the end of our meal. Friendly staff, lovely decor, highly recommended.

To be able to use the sun beds on the beach you need to have a minimum 20 Euro spending per person, no matter if you have children with you or not. All the prices for drinks and ice creams are doubled according to other places and if children would like to use the pool, you need to ask every time in advance. We have ordered 2 gyros plates, which was small portions and because they cook only at night, they warm the meat up from previous the day for 13 euro. There were literally 2 slices of tomatoes, 2 small slices of pita bread and 7 slices of potatoes( never seen it in Greece before) and the whole food cold. As we paid at each time with different person, the lady owner didn’t have a clue that we spend even more. She was wandering why we don’t want eat to have a lunch on the beach bar. When I explained, she was rude and becomes even aggressive. I have traveled all around the world, however I have never experienced such a business behavior. The value of the quality and the price is very poor and this place is highly not recommended. They would deserve less...

The employees seemed genuinely nice. The reasons I gave them the rating I did is because we clearly asked for TAP water, the server repeated it without a problem and agreed to bring some. However, when the man came back, he opened a bottle of water and before we could say anything, he was already pouring water into our glasses. Also, I took the chicken gyros. The whole plate was dry with only chicken, potatoes and bread. The servers kept coming back to our table telling us it was great with tzatziki, which I was expecting to come in the plate. Of course, I decided to take a side of Tzatiki since the plate was very dry. I knew it was going to cost extra, however when the bill came, I realized the side of sauce was 5 euros, which was way more than I expecting. I was disappointed as it was my last...
