Kurmulis Studios — Hotel in Municipality of Chania

Me and my two sons had a lovely time there in july 2016.||Its a 5 star self accomodation apartment! Dear Lords and Queens please don't mistake its not 5 star hotel with 24h service! But its a lovely run by one family sweet place! With very welcome owners Manolis and his son Georgos . ||At the time of your arriving they welcome anyone with key, bottle of cold water in the fridge and jug of cold deliciouse juice! ||Now about accomodation !||Its actually a half on the right side of what you can see on a pic is Kurmulis ||Studios, another half is totaly different hotel with different owner )) A pool is shared by 2 hotels! But during 2 weeks of my stay i never see it full )) ||The room i stay is number 5. ||Its a big enough room, with very comfortable beds! Without leg rest at the end, so tall peoples will sleep with comfort! The matress are great ! ||About cleaning i can say Super!!! So clean! That lady that working there did just brilliant spotless cleaning! I really lost of how many times she change towels and sheets for us ( not off course only for us) .||But no matter how clean is, in the night that island have cocroaches! They try to snick in the room ))But that is nature! ||My advice for everyone to bring with you spray against insects! I was thinking that in hot they not survive, but i was wrong! ||Also if you alergic to cats or dogs take medicine with you, the animals is everywhere! Free running, even on the beach!We went once for stone oven baked pizza and see how they costumer had difficulty to get read of cat that don/t want to leave they table! ||Its alot of different lights in the room, few free sockets, from kitchen window i can see chirch clock, so hundy )). Room has lady make up table with big mirror, a good dining table with solid chears, and also plastick table and chears ( inIbiza 3 star hotel i begging to get one for balcon!!) . Air condition , if you use it. As a minus i found that fridge is leaking and not freeze good, but it cool all food and drink good, so it not bothering me.And shower head you must hold, no wall mounted .But work perfect! Only once late water was not hot, all other time as much as you need!||What really bothering me is when peoples next door smok alot. As distance is small and wind blow somtimes all on me.||Now about the broadband : Yes it works! And in the room and in the pool! And its no need to stay near reception as i see router in the middle of the buildings too!Yes in the corner of the bed sometimes i lost signal, but its nothing, if you ever travel to Portugal or .Spain you know what i mean))! And the signal is great for watch movies on line or use Skype or Viber! At the too hot hours my son just jump in youtube))!||The pool : well, if you sweem its just for you! Its deep, just near one side i can reach the bottom ! The baby side is what i use the most)) Its big enough, the only one what i found danger is that baby can easily step from one pool to other, so you really must be there all the time!!( but anyway you must be present). The baby side have two long steps , what make very comfi to sit in it.||Pool good cleaned every 3 day! They use some detergent, but with to soft skin it was friendly, same for baby skin.||Near the pool its not much space as big hotels have, but there is lovely terrace on the roof! Especially if you love to sleep or read and stay alone . So nice view from there! Its provided with sun beds and table and chears! And its have a big sun wood awning! When it be to hot you can hide there! And at the evening time i see young couples did barbeque there! To go up you need to use metal rounded stears, my baby affraid use is , what make me happy))||The location : to go to beach, mini supermarkets or restorants 5 min down! Back 10 min up ! But Greek food is so deliciouse that its good to have that walk distance, or i need 2 seat in the plane for go back! Seriously i cant stop eat there!||And what definitely better than in other accommodations stayed just near the beach is that Kurmulis is situated in cul -de- sac! The noise from main road never gives you a chance to rest good! There is only one main road! All day, all night is full of traffic and walking peoples!||Now what is near and what we visit:||1.Supermarket (as i moustly cook myself). For better choise and prices we go to Lidl and Inka in Kalamaki. Dirrection is: on the main road you turn right and walk strait 45 minutes, they both be on your left. Another 10 min strait and on your right be biggest toy shop.Taxi with shopping back cost me 10 euros ( its definitely too much , but i had big shopping and 2 kids so i just payed). For just something small its every 20 miters mini markets every directions.||2. Beach. We turn right, than in 20 miters left, with baggy its was best place for me. If you surfer than its your place too! This is end of beach at that point and its used by local surfers alot as its also plenty free parking there. From main road to the left you also have thousands entrances to the beach , and what is unusual with absolutely free sun beds and umbrellas! Just buy any drink from they bar))!And its in july!||For peoples with sensitive skin and for babies its best beach ever after 5 pm! Water is warm till night, sunshine is soft, sunset is asom!||3.Tourist Little Fun Train. From main road you turn right and in first place called Smart (car for rent) you get and tickets and all info about it! The stops its also there.Its have different routes.||We went with them on Western adventure and in Water park. Western cost me 28 euros, baby free. Water park with entrance and all attraction included is 48 euros. Boths of them is great fun , so i hightly reccomend you them!||4.Water park.As i said already its the best and cheapest way to go there with Little train! Super for babies and kids! Not sure about 18-21 age as its not to big. Great supervised.We was wednesday there and it was full! My baby was not biggest lover of hotel pool, but there i cant take him out of water!! So much fun! You can bring any food/drink with you , or eat there. Omlet was great there, pizza not really).||Just opposite the road is big (not too big) carting, Go cart. ||5.Mini golf and mini amusements.On the main road left and about 15-20 min walk we found very cosy one, its the second from us on that directions. First one i dont found comfi. Cost 3-4 euros for child.Go cart 2 euros for 3 min., the baby cars 1 euros. There also pool table , air hockey, some others game too.Opposite side of road its a biggest Inka market in that direction(not so god as near Lidl).||6. Where is really great to go with small kids and babies is in Golden Fun Park , its just before you turn to Lidl and Inka in Kalamaki. There is everythinh !Mini Golf, bowling, but the main is hudge play area indoor with conditions and a few big bouncy outdoor castles for just 3 euros for child!!!! Area supervised! There planty tables in/out door, they make also birthday parties thare , and we saw one , but was space for all! Very friendly staff there in play zone, very lost waiters too))|| Im not risk to rent a car there, as i never drive on that side. The road marks is poor , the drivers are not a gentelmans at all. To cross the main road safe with buggy sometimes take me 10 minutes! No way someone give you way!!!! I see how one driver even signaling on eldery man tourist when he try to cross the road after get lost his patients waiting for gap in traffic.There plenty of buses i see, just it was no need to use for me so dont know how good they are.||In many places the foot paths is created just for cats! Its so small that baggy i drive on the road side.||P.S. Transfer: Airport Chania -Stalos is 35 euros! And dont book ahead is my advice, i did and got just bad service back! A sun awning in baby pool,parking stopers on entrance (as some guest park as ...),traditional window shutters for night brith but with safe lock(as im not air condition user) and nothing else )))||What more can i say? Hi everyone! || This year me and my two boys again was there! ||Strait at the door we get a big surprise!!!! The room was renovated! New kitchenette! New fridge! And room was freshly stylish painted ! New lamps!||I was very happy even last year, but its really better and better!!!!||And its not just in one room! During our stay they bought and fit more fridges to all the rooms too, so some peoples might miss that part of renovation. )|| I have a new advice to all who come with kids! At your first day do visit store name "Jumbo" its just 2 min walk from Lidl- Inka up the hill. Why? To save your budget ! So much toys with so good price!!! So much beach and toys, and whatever there!!!! So much really anything else beside toys! I got some presents from there too!||So really do go there in first day-you will save a lot !|| This time I decided use tourist little train at evening time. And we go to "orange "tour . Not recommend it at all! Staff was tired! It was really boring, and I feel bit like sheep, not like a human. Do go morning tours! You will enjoy more.|| This time also we went in Chania. By taxi. Wanna save on it ? Than always pre order it online via email and ask how much you will pay! Taxi drivers charge much more if you not check price ! For example I pay 12euros to Chania when ordered by email , and 11euros just from Lidl to studios by phone taxi drivers! And its just half way to Chania!!!!!||Off course Chania its beautiful place to visit! But to noisy to stay with kids)))||Really recommend to go to Chania municipal park! At the hottest time of the day its best place to be with kids! There is free big play ground under the huge trees, with lots places to sit!! And big huge area with Kri-kri goats, which is Crete national animals!!! Its also have big old coffee shop there, but with bad service, just across the road, on the left in "friendship and peace "park you can find a lovely place to eat sandwiches, very yummy ice cream and any drink!|| Again I want to say big thanks to Lady that clean there. We have had a wonderful 10 days at Kurmulis Studios. We stayed in a studio apartment on the ground floor. It was perfect in every way. The location was great. 5 minutes walk to the beach, shops and restaurants, 30 minutes drive from the airport, 15 minutes to Chania and close to the main road for trips further afield. Supermarkets are a short walk away with bigger ones less than a 10 minute drive away. The apartment was kept spotlessly clean with daily visits by the cleaners and regular towel and sheet changes. They don’t stop working! The pool is fresh and clean and we loved the rooftop terrace which is a sun trap. Pool towels were provided and you can change them whenever you like. George is on hand, on reception or via WhatsApp all the time. It quickly became a home from home for us. The bed is comfortable and the shower is good. Small kitchenette is well equipped - although we didn’t cook as the restaurants nearby are so reasonable. Could do with a toaster though! You do share the pool with the complex opposite but it was never too busy. A variety of sunbeds available throughout the small complex. Overall small but perfectly formed, peaceful and comfortable....
