Okirroi Villas — Hotel in Municipality of Chersonissos

We stayed here for 2 weeks with our teenage children. Dimitris, the owner, is a chatty and lovable person, and is incredibly helpful when you have any questions or need anything (e.g. arranging a washing line).|The apartment itself is clean and practical, it had all the kitchen equipment we needed (small oven, three ring hob, fridge, coffee machine, kettle, crockery and cutlery, etc.). Hand and bath towels were provided, and exchanged regularly, plus soap and toilet paper. The bathroom was basic, and was cleaned every few days. Beds were comfortable, and sheets were changed twice during our stay. Air condition worked very well. And a safe is provided free of charge. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio!|The pool is very nice and very well maintained (the pool is 1.40m deep, and there is also a small baby pool next to it). There were sufficient sun beds and parasols, plus tables and chairs.|Of course, there are public beaches around. The nearest is roughly a 10 minute walk.|The location is excellent. It is situated in a relatively quiet spot between the busy towns of Hersonissos and Malia. The main road is just outside, so it is very easy to catch a bus to Heraklion, Malia, etc. There are two excellent restaurants across the road, and many more in Stalida and Hersonissos, within walking distance. There are a few small supermarkets close by. A big hyper market in Hersonissos is 15 minutes away by foot. And there is a good bakery in Stalida, also about 15 minutes away.|If you do not like to walk, Dimitris has lots of bicycles which can be used free of charge.|Finally, we really enjoyed sitting on the bench at the back of the property, up the hill, where you have great views over the bay.|A very big thank you to Dimitris, who made our stay so enjoyable. We had a fantastic time in Crete & would definitely recommend these villas to anyone. Beautiful villas very comfortable beds & well equipped kitchen. The windows & doors were all opening outwards & on an angle which was good at night. & there were optional mosquito screens - good to have but there were very few mosquitoes. Air con in the bedroom was a bonus. ||The pool was lovely & always spotless & not busy during our stay. There’s an honesty bar in the fridge which was well stocked & reasonably priced & lilos you can help yourself to. There were lots of different nationalities among the guests which we liked. ||There’s a good pebble beach about 10 minutes away & supermarkets including Spar & Lidl in Hersonnisis as well as restaurants & shops. We hired a car so we could shop at Lidl & explore the island as you are located very near to the national highway which is a good rood round the island. We visited Malia old town, Spinalonga Ligeria beach ( our favourite) & the hippie caves - lovely place but the sea is very rough in the South. ||Lastly we would like to thank Andreas the manager & his team for all their hard work in looking after us. Andreas was helpful friendly & very knowledgeable about the island. He will order you taxis & recommended places to visit. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Andreas' place (Okirroi Villas) in Crete! From the very beginning, communication was smooth and welcoming. The apartment was spotless - the cleanliness is truly outstanding, and it immediately made us feel comfortable and at home. The value for money is excellent, as everything you could possibly need is provided, and the quality of the accommodation is far above what we expected for the price. The location is simply perfect: quiet and peaceful, yet just a short walk to the beach, which made our holiday both relaxing and convenient. The surroundings are beautiful, with plenty to see and do nearby. What really made the experience exceptional, however, was Andreas himself. He is one of the friendliest and most attentive hosts we've ever met. His recommendations for local restaurants and activities were absolutely spot on, and thanks to him we discovered hidden gems we would have never found on our own.
