What a disappointment! From the moment you drive through the narrow streets of the village that looks deserted, you think to yourself "what have I done?!?, honey, I've ruined the holiday!" As we arrived to the hotel, we were "greeted" by this woman who immediately asked for the hotel voucher and passports and with a blank face told us she will be returning the IDs in a few days after the police checks them! After some questions and answers, the woman takes us to our apartment, which, from the moment she opened the door, smelled damp and dirty. It was situated on the ground floor, and the only window it had was small and wouldn't shut which automatically raised a safety and security concern. To our surprise we were told that if we wanted air conditioning and the safety deposit box, we had to pay €85.00 extra! Obviously, we had no choice, but when we asked for a receipt, the woman got really uncomfortable. (The receipt was handed to us on our last day of holiday, after we requested it every day!)The A/C was so noisy that we couldn't even hear each other talk, so we asked them to come and fix it, and the answer was "if it's too noisy, switch it off", we complained and someone eventually came the next day and took off the flaps which diminished the noise. The apartment was absolutely DISGUSTING! Dirty to the core! The kitchenette area was sticky and smelly. The fridge still has remains from the previous guests, it's shelves were rusty and human hairs were stuck to them. The kettle was full of rust and limescale, there was a foul smell coming from the sink drain, the cutlery was full of rust and sticky. Moving on to the bathroom, there was only half a toilet roll next to the broken toilet roll holder, the toilet seat had yellow drops of dried up urine on it, and the toilet brush had seen better days! The shower tray was mouldy and the cracks were painted over with some sort of glue/silicone, the shower holder was broken and everything was full of limescale. Oh, and the shower curtain! It had mould, hairs, a buildup of soap scum, it was filthy beyond belief! The bedroom had two single beds joined together, not a double/king size bed we were expecting. We came on holiday as a family, but had to sleep separately! The pillow covers and sheets had stains on them, the bed frames and night stands were sticky and EVERYTHING smelled like cigarettes! Not a room where you'd want your 3 years old child to sleep in! All the plugs in the room had burnt marks, and that made me question the safety of even charging my phone. The TV is mounted on the wall so high up that you have to be completely lying down to be able to watch it without getting a neck pain! There is no washing machine facilities and the wi-fi only works in the reception area! I have photo evidence to support everything I have said above, and I would happily send them over to anyone who requests them. "Let's go to the sea", my little one said, so we made our way down to the shore. After a 6-7 min walk on a road with no sidewalks and wide enough for a bus to pass, we could see the sea, hear the waves, but where is the beach?!? In the hotel's presentation, they say it is situated 200m from the beach, well, I can assure you it's not! It's about 300m to the rocky cliffs, you've still got a good few minutes walk to the closest beach which is tiny and dirty! Only a few restaurants by the sea side, and a couple of 'supermarkets' which are ridiculously overpriced ( 1 can of coke €2.50, 1 can of redbull €3 (€4 in a restaurant), 1 kinder egg €2.5, etc! The only 2 things I can recommend in this village are John and Mary car rental shop, where we've rented a car from at very decent prices and we were able to move around, drive to gorgeous beaches with golden sand and clear blue waters on the other side of the island, visit towns and tourist attractions, and also, the amazing Phillipo's Taverna who had very nice food, fresh and affordable! The owner and the staff were friendly and always smiling...
Read moreWe are a couple in our 20s and spent our first holiday together in this wonderful place. Thank you to everyone at PALLATIUM for making our first trip abroad together extra special, with your amazing service, friendly conversations, and brilliant recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - it was relaxing, quiet, and everyone was so friendly! The pool is quiet and clean and the breakfast is delicious - we couldn’t help but swim and enjoy a home made brekkie every morning. The hotel is located in a great area, making it easy to travel to different locations for exploring what Crete has to offer, and it really is beautiful. We really hope to come back again some time (hopefully next year!) and will be recommending friends! Thank you so much xx Lucy and Eric...
Read moreWe loved our trip. The apartment is beautiful, we just miss kitchen utensils. We booked an apartment because we wanted to make our own food. But with only 1 pot and a frying pan, we had difficulties. We didn't even find a can opener. Please kindly provide more utensils and we will definitely be back! The owners are very friendly and helpful. Cleaning was exceptional! Excellent location! We intend...
