Meh. I would say this place is average at best. I’ve been coming to Greece once a year for nearly 30 years so I think I’m well versed enough to comment.
I feel this place is living on its boom In popularity that occurred a few years back. I’m very familiar with Kato Gouves and I don’t think this place would make my top 20 places to eat it’s basically bang average.
The food is mediocre at best whilst the portions are on the large side the flavour is definitely lacking. The Stifado was tasteless and watery, the moussaka was stodgy with no real substance of of flavour from its ingredients and the grilled pork again is something you could grill yourself off your home bbq no flavour or marination.
The staff were not very attentive and very Blaise with little attention given to the customers post sitting other than to bring food, I hope you don’t want to order another drink or require something else for your table. I speak semi fluent Greek, Fluent English,German and French so I could have gained attention if the staff were willing to provide attention. We had to ask for the bill on four separate occasions in 30 mins.
The restaurant was busy so maybe it was an off day but it felt very cold, distant with little to no atmosphere.
Would I recommend it,sadly no there are far better eateries in Kato Gouves that would be placed far above here, it gives off very paid promotion vibes whilst offering very little. For those familiar with Kato Gouves this reminds me of Blue Sky on the strip, fur coat and...
Read moreWhat a dream find here in Gouves. On the front, lovely setting to watch the sunset. My friend found this restaurant as recommended for Vegetarians. Bianca, our waitress was amazing, so patient, knowledgeable, great English also. Helped us choose wine, which we had on all three occasions we dined there. My friend so happy too, such a great variety of delicious food, while I had swordfish, calamari then mixed meat souvlaki on our last night. Zucchini fritti, stuffed peppers, and roast vegetables were to die for. This is a family run business, Bianca and Isabella waitressing while mum and dad are in the kitchen. Also, the main house front guy was great, so accommodating. Would highly recommend this restaurant , such reasonable prices compared to other restaurants in the area, such as Mylos and Medusa. These were good also but not the same setting or price, more expensive. Look no further if you want great food , setting and reasonable...
Read moreThere are so many restaurants in the proximity. Most of them are great and offer a wonderful experience. However, we still came here three times during our 8 days stay in the region. The service, Apostolos (Poli), is very friendly and accommodating. My 4 year old daughter was even allowed to see the kitchen, as she was curios. I always asked for the chef's recommendation for the day and was never disappointed. The food was authentic, simple and delicious. There is also something almost mythical about the location: right on the sea. It feels like Jason and the Argonauts might at any moment bob their heads from the horizon and coast on the small stony beach. That was my perception but there is something of an experience for everyone. I recommend this place, it is...
