I was the first guest of the season and the signs for the accommodation were not yet installed but through some locals I found my way. The entire property did not seem ready for customers yet but it was very quiet as it lies away from the road.|The room was very basic and a bit outdated but functional. A fridge and a kettle were available but no safe or hairdryer.|The owner, Pavlos, was a nice guy but somehow did not feel the urge to get his property ready for customers||The courtyard between the rooms was full of dead bugs. I had quite a few of them alos in my room and even in my bed. This could have been easily solved by sweeping the grounds prior to my arrival. The internet did only start working on day 3. The reception was not occupied and the tel. number given was not answered. Messages on booking.com were also not replied to. I asked for a hairdryer which was listed under the rooms amenities but was actually not there and I also did not get one.|The fan (no aircon) only worked when simultaneously the outdoor light was switched on (waste of energy and the light shone into the room).|The card reader did not work as there was an update after the winter and the owner had not prepared for customers in time to be able to pay by card. I had to go into the family restaurant and pay there instead.|Considering this was the most expensive out of my 7 hotels in the islands this had the least to offer.there was no decoration or personal touch. I was very disappointed. On day 2 the owner worked on ghetto property preparing it for more customers arriving that day. Maybe I am too strict but I would have thought that preparations should be done and equipment should be tested earlier than just before...
Read moreWe have just got back after an amazing trip to the Cyclades, and have been left wanting to go back immediately to Folegandros :( :(||||We had found Pavlosx2 when searching for modes of transport on the island, as it is in the same location as the famous "Donkey Scooters" office. When I called to book the staff were very helpful, and answered all of the questions I had, but more importantly were very flexible. We stayed for 4 nights in very early July. ||We arrived on a ferry from Mykonos and the ferry was delayed (this is Greece!) but we were met, as agreed, upon arrival by the charming Babis, who took us by minivan to the apartments where we were checked in by Dina, with very accurate information about the islands beaches, and as per the weather, where we should visit on which day (reminding us that it would be clever to check each morning again, as the winds turn very quickly) ||The room was clean, simple, but completely perfect for our stay with a good shower and a powerful fan. The temperature naturally drops at night, as actually Chora and Pavlos apartments are not at sea level, so the windows and fan are perfect to cool down the room, no requirement for AC. ||We fell in love with Folegandros, and will definately be back soon. We would definately stay at Pavlos again, and would highly recommend renting a Quad bike from Donkey scooters. Its the best way to get around the island, and also the most fun!...
Read moreWe visited Pavlosx2 in August 2020. We were planning to stay for 4 nights but eventually managed to stay for only one. Here are a few reasons:||||1. No working Wi-Fi (despite saying they had one), no TV, no Air-Condition which is necessary especially in hot days.||2. Very small and dirty room, variable water temperature, mold on the wall, rust in the bathroom, spider on the blanket; an old and not renovated place in total contrast with what is depicted in their photos.||3. Impolite and sarcastic owner (and I quote him “What did you expect for 60 euros per night?”) that didn’t own up to his mistakes. He passed the responsibilities to the (more helpful) staff. Also, as we couldn’t stay there for more than one night he agreed, after a long conversation, to return the extra fee. He then postponed the payment and ignored our phone calls for approximately 3 weeks.||4. Although the place was close to the main square (Chora), we had to cross a dirt road which didn’t have enough lighting; phone flashlight was necessary.||||In summary, the pictures on their website were deceiving, the room was small, dirty and was lacking basic facilities. Despite being marketed as a value for money option, it was in fact the exact opposite. For its price, it was just a way to take advantage of the high demand during August. I would not recommend it; there are definitely better...
