Maria's Place Ios — Hotel in Municipality of Ios

My friends and I stayed in Maria’s Place from the 23rd of May to the 30th of June. I have to say with all my heart that it was the most amazing experience. Maria is the most loving, caring and considerate person I have ever met. She welcomed us, complete strangers, into her home like we had known each other all our lives. I had heard brilliant stories about Maria’s Place from my older sisters who had stayed with her in previous years, but I never would have thought that Maria’s Place would be such an intrinsic part of my holiday experience. From delicious breakfasts in Maria’s balcony to her fabulous cocktail nights, Maria not only provided us with immaculate accommodation, she also provided us with unforgettable memories and bonding experiences. In Maria’s Place I met new people from all over Ireland that I am now so lucky to call my friends. My holiday was enhanced dramatically all thanks to Maria and her stunning accommodation. Maria was like a mother to us all, caring for us, keeping us safe and effortlessly diffusing any problems we had. Our room was so amazing, we couldn’t have asked for better accommodation. We had a modern stove, high-quality kitchenware and appliances and a TV. Of course my favourite part of Maria’s Place would have to be the veranda. Singing our hearts out in the veranda was one of the many highlights of my experience. I will forever be so grateful to Maria for our stay. I am leaving with here so many priceless memories. I will most definitely be returning to Maria’s Place, even if it’s just for one more...

Maria’s place is like no other.

Yes, it is immaculately cleaned everyday, the rooms are spacious and are equipped with plenty of storage and refreshing air conditioning along with towels, toiletries, fresh bed linen and your very own outside table, chairs…. and relaxing hammock!

Yes, Maria’s place is located just seconds from the beautiful village of Chora that encompasses everything a traveller could ask for - vibrant nightlife, delicious restaurants and plenty to see and do both culturally and recreationally.

Yes, Maria’s place is just an 8 minute walk from the beautiful port of Ios and the local beach.

This is all amazing and I am so delighted that we have gotten all of this as part of our 5 week stay with Maria… but this is not the best part about our stay in Ios.

The best part of our stay with Maria is the woman herself. Maria Zacheau has been a mother away from home for both myself and my 3 friends for the last 5 weeks. We will always remember our stay, not because of the amazing place but because of the amazing Maria. Her welcoming demeanour, loving and caring smile, her ever accommodating manner and we must not forget her amazing Mojitos and cocktail nights that she holds in the famous veranda to welcome her guests and to make everyone feel at ease.

We will always remember our time in Maria's place. This is a place that welcomes everyone with a “Cead Mile Failte”. I think that speaks for itself!

Maria’s Accomodation is perfect. It’s a home away from home. The Location is a 2 minute walk from the village. The rooms are cheap, spacious, clean and well looked after. Maria herself is like an angel sent from the Greek heavens to look after you while you perish in the fiery depths of a crippling hangover from the aftermath of the carnage that insued the night before. She’s always there to get you in good spirits and get you back on track to enjoy the sun, sea and all the beaches the island has to offer.

I couldn’t recommend Maria’s more. The only negative remark I can say is every single person I know that stayed in Maria’s never wants to leave it and usually the departure leads to an emotionally goodbye.
