Blue Horizon — Hotel in Municipality of Kantanos-Selinon

We have just spent 10 days of our month long road trip back at the small and beautifully formed Blue Horizon, with Maria, George, Kikki and Emerson, who along with Dad are perfect hosts. Really lovely genuine people offering a wonderful family owned holiday base in Paleochora, right opposite the fabulous golden sandy beach of Paleochora (the quiet side).||This families hospitality is second to none. They are kind , attentive and professional at all times.||They now have a delightful rooftop bar open in the evenings, too. As expected, drinks are well priced and the quality of their wine superb.||You can watch the incredible sunset from this vantage point.||Simply stunning.||Rooms are lovely and we had a comfy new bed and views to die for.||This time we brought friends with us - they too loved the Blue Horizon experience.||There is a choice from 4 sea facing rooms with stunning views (I should mention, it gets very hot on the balconies of upstairs rooms), or the option of nice cool rooms at the back if you prefer shade.||Some with their own balconies or patio area.||Kikki makes beautifully presented, fresh Greek buffet breakfasts on the roof terrace every morning - where we enjoyed breakfast accompanied by perfect sea views, daily. Without hesitation this is a 5 stars stay for this 2 stars hotel. Maria and her family are welcoming us with the same attention to detail we would have in the most prestigious hotel! She shared her number and will touch base with you to make sure everything is ok with your plane prior arrival. The room was large, even if we had 3 large luggages we had enough place to move around. What I really like was the little balcony because you can really enjoy to play outside after a long day at the beach. They also have a bar on the roof top we’re you can enjoy the splendid sunset. Talking about the breakfast: this is certainly one of the best part of the stay since everything is HOMEMADE. You can smell the delicate parfum of cake that they bake in the afternoon so it’s ready for the next morning. Everyday we had some special treats to try. Eine Oase der Ruhe und Gastfreundschaft: Unser Aufenthalt im Blue Horizon Hotel in Paleochora war einfach nur wunderbar und hat unsere Erwartungen in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen. Von dem Moment an, als wir ankamen, fühlten wir uns wie zu Hause, umsorgt von der herzlichen Gastfreundschaft, die dieses Hotel so besonders macht. Das Blue Horizon liegt ideal, nur einen Steinwurf vom malerischen Strand von Paleochora entfernt und bietet gleichzeitig die perfekte Ruhe, um dem Alltag zu entfliehen. Die Zimmer sind makellos sauber, komfortabel und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir genossen besonders den Blick von unserem Balkon, der uns jeden Morgen mit der Ägäis begrüßte und uns am Abend mit wunderschönen Sonnenuntergängen verzauberte. Die Betten waren unglaublich bequem und sorgten für erholsamen Schlaf nach langen Tagen voller Erkundungen. Was das Blue Horizon Hotel jedoch wirklich auszeichnet, ist die außergewöhnliche Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit des Personals. Jorgos und Maria sind die Seele dieses Hauses und haben unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht. Ihre genuine Freundlichkeit, ihre Hilfsbereitschaft und ihre aufrichtige Fürsorge sind bemerkenswert. Jorgos hatte immer einen guten Tipp für die besten Restaurants oder versteckte Buchten, und Maria sorgte mit ihrer liebevollen Art dafür, dass es uns an nichts fehlte. Man spürt, dass sie ihre Arbeit mit Leidenschaft tun, und das überträgt sich auf die gesamte Atmosphäre des Hotels. Es war eine wahre Freude, sie kennenzulernen und ihre Gastfreundschaft zu erleben. Das Frühstück im Hotel war ein weiteres Highlight. Es gab eine reichhaltige Auswahl an frischen, lokalen Produkten, von köstlichem griechischem Joghurt und Honig bis hin zu frischem Obst und Gebäck. Es war der perfekte Start in jeden Tag und wurde mit einem Lächeln serviert. Paleochora selbst ist ein charmantes Städtchen, das seinen ursprünglichen Charakter bewahrt hat. Es gibt viele wunderbare Tavernen, kleine Geschäfte und eine entspannte Atmosphäre, die zum Verweilen einlädt. Das Blue Horizon Hotel ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt, um die Umgebung zu erkunden, sei es bei einem Spaziergang entlang der Küste, einer Bootsfahrt zu den nahegelegenen Inseln oder einfach nur beim Entspannen am Strand. Wir können das Blue Horizon Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Es ist der perfekte Ort für Reisende, die eine authentische kretische Erfahrung suchen, gepaart mit exzellentem Service und einer Atmosphäre, die von Herzen kommt.
