+: 1. Free of charge late check-out at 18:00 2. Beautiful nature and crystal clear water. 3. Spacious room with a large terrace and panoramic view on the bay. 4. Food: good pastry and pizza. 5. Nice shop in 10 minutes walk with fruits and a good selection of wines without extra tourist surcharge. 6. I recommend to take running shoes, you can explore stunning cliffs around with breathtaking views on the seashore. -: 1: The word "subordination" has apparently never been heard of here. The cleaning lady allowed herself to enter the room when the hotel guests were "sleeping", walked through the whole room to put water in the refrigerator, even though she was asked not to enter the room in English. But the cleaning ladies in this hotel do not speak English at all. The dish cleaners in the dining room, apparently due to the lack of knowledge of any even basic English, allowed themselves to go up to the table where we have been dining and knocked on it, saying something in Greek in a rude tone with a displeased face. In general, any request such as pouring water or coffee is perceived as a favor, is done very slow and with the same displeased face. To get an espresso in the morning is a whole quest: you need to find a person who has a "clearance level" for the coffee machine, then water is added there for about 5 minutes, coffee is added, in the process the employee responsible for this can leave somewhere without saying a word, and all this with the same displeased expression on his face. 2. It is required to wear a mask in the dining room, although masks are not provided. 3. The territory of the hotel, in particular all the sidewalks, are preferred to be washed during the day, so you need to either fly over a puddle or swim in it like pigs. I saw this for the first time. Usually, even in Egypt, this happens in the early morning (while everyone is sleeping). 4. The level of room cleaning service is as bad as in the motel. Either they won't supply the water, or the floor will be washed with a dirty, stinking rag. The bed upon arrival was in some kind of small lumps of paper. After my complaint over the phone, nothing happened, after going to the reception and complaining in person, they brought a new bed lining and just placed it on the bed. I had to change the lining myself. When the bed was not changed the next day, the reception replied that it is changed every three days. 4 **** unexpected. Hotel shoes have not been changed even once during the week. Oh yes, when we checked in, there were already residents in the room: 3 fat cockroaches, the size of the local breed is impressive. They were eliminated, new ones did not come. 5. The safe upon arrival was not working and was not screwed on. Solved this issue the next day. 6. Upon check-in, we waited for 20 minutes for someone to help us with the luggage (walk to the room is about 5 min by steps). 7. Plumbing: water starts to flow out of the floor drain next to the toilet when you shower. As a result, the whole bathroom turns into a huge puddle. 8. Food: awful. Even olives (it's salt, just a lump of salt). All food is very salty. Vegetables and fruits are tasteless. For 7 days we had a pleasant dinner 3 times (grilled chicken, red fish, grilled dorado). On other days, we had to eat delicious pizza to survive. 9. Coffee is extra charge everywhere except breakfast, the quality is below average, even for the extra. 10. The drinking water is awful, had to go to the store to buy. 11. And a control shot !!! On the departure day: the hotel dumped waste into the sea right under the sun beds on the beach at 9 am. They answered on the complaint about this (it just killed me here) that this is normal, as it is necessary to drain the waste somehow. I attach photos and videos. 12. There is also a photographer who obsessively takes pictures at the entrance to the dining room, and at breakfast in an obtrusive and rude manner tries to sell printed photographs. P.S. Will not come back and DO NOT RECOMMEND!

When we arrived at Peninsula Resort & Spa after 10pm we were happy and surprised to get the opportunity for having a late dinner at the buffet. Finally in our beautiful, clean and large room a little gecko came around to wish us a good night. About the room Before we started our journey we made use of the WhatsApp contact you can find on the Website to make a wish about our room. The wish was perfectly fulfilled and we got a little bungalow with two smaller and one big bed in which we slept very comfortably. We had two flat screens that we could connect to our phones and notebook and received three German television programs (ARD, ZDF and Kika). The safe was locked in the first place, but when we asked our WhatsApp-Helper it was unlocked immediately. We had a big closet, two writing desks, several little stools and a water heater with tea and instant coffee. There was a walk-in shower and a hair dryer in the bathroom but sadly no shelf or anything to put on little bathroom supplies. Instead we used a little plastic stool to put on our stuff. Shampoo, shower gel and soap was included. The highlight of our bungalow was the lovely terrace with a beautiful sea view we could cosily sit on and watch the sunrise above the sea. About the food: Breakfast: 07:30 – 10:15 (+ late & early breakfast) Lunch 12:30 – 14:00 Dinner: 19:00 – 21:30 There was a wide variety of food for every taste. Even at the breakfast they offered fresh pizza as well as bread, pastries, yogurt, cereal, milk/soy milk/almond milk, fruit, vegetables, freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs and more. In addition to the normal buffet they had a special dish on the grill at lunch and dinner. On some evenings there was also a large buffet outside. So we were very satisfied with the offered food. Surprisingly, the water from the drink dispensers didn't taste like chlorine, but the hot water did. The snack bar / pool bar was a little disappointing. Fresh crepes with chocolate etc. were offered daily as snacks, as well as other small pastries, but nothing hearty and the same every day. About the bathing facilities The main pool, the salt water pool and the indoor pool were available to us. Unfortunately, none of the pools were heated, so the pools were used very little. When the weather isn’t good enough for laying outside you can relax in the spa area by the indoor pool. Otherwise we preferred to stay at the salt water pool, as it was quieter and more relaxed here than at the main pool. We always found a free lounger and had a beautiful view of the sea from here. The sea was accessible from 2 nearby beaches and from Tsimento Beach (platform). The two nearby beaches are public beaches and can be reached downhill by stairs. Loungers have to be paid here. However, you can go into the sea here and, after cooling off, simply go up again and, for example, lie on the loungers by the salt water pool. The beaches are mixed sandy and rocky. Bathing shoes should be worn. You can jump straight into the water from Tsimento Beach. Since it was quite windy with high waves on our first days, Tsimento was closed at the beginning of our holiday, but was opened later. It is noteworthy that there are no lifeguards at the pools or at Tsimento. So you should take good care of yourself. About the Service The whole staff was very friendly and dedicated. But again I have to underline how very helpful the WhatsApp contact was. Here we could be helped many times and I would like to say thank you again for that. We could absolutely not confirm that French guests are preferred. Résumé We had a very nice stay at the Peninsula Resort & Spa. There are little things that could be improved, but you have everything you need to feel good and relax.

As an all-inclusive, I wasn’t a fan. I really wish I could’ve just booked the room itself. I don’t think I would’ve stayed here if it wasn’t for the private pool room I booked. Room: our room was gorgeous. We splurged and got the private pool. We were awake for sunrise every morning and watched out in our lounge chairs. We spent every morning in our pool. We were lucky to also get the floating breakfast one day (50€) which was very yummy and offered a lot of choices. The bed was pretty comfy, however I wish I asked for an extra blanket as it got quite cool at night and I get cold easily. Room was cleaned daily and fridge was stocked with water bottles and orange juice. The location of the pool rooms was odd because we would often notice people walking to/from the restaurant above looking down at us and sometimes taking pictures. Food: I was not a fan of the food. It wasn’t terrible, but I’ve had better food at all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean… which is not a high bar. Most of the time, food was unlabeled so you weren’t quite sure what you were eating. Any meat was pretty much always super dry. Pizza and pasta were ok. There weren’t a lot of very Greek options. One night a week is Cretan night, which was disappointing because we were there for 5 days and it was the day we left. I love dessert, but after the first night I didn’t eat any because it was usually pretty bland and not worth it. After the first day, I started making dakos for myself daily at the build your own dakos bar. I was a bit disappointed at breakfast because every resort that I’ve been too has made to order eggs, but there was someone just making batch eggs sunny side up and scrambled/omelet like. We ate at one of the restaurants one night and the food was good, but the loud trivia just outside ruined the vibe. What was nice about the food, however, is that they were quite accommodating for time. Breakfast was often opened earlier than normal due to request for early morning tours/departures, and they do offer lunch boxes to go for tours. Drinks: the all inclusive drinks are ok… not great. That’s not a big deal, but you can only get drinks with the all inclusive package at 2 of the 4 bars, which are right next to each other and have different operating times, so basically just one bar. The other 2 bars (lobby bar and beach bar) are spread out from the all inclusive bar so it makes it quite inconvenient. Also, the all inclusive bar gets extremely loud with music and animation at dinner time and onwards, making it difficult to enjoy a drink. There is no bar in the restaurant, but there’s wine and beer on tap. Pool: we did not end up using the main pool. It looked clean, it is a decent size. There’s also a salt water pool down down down a lot of stairs by the “beach.” We planned to spend a late morning hanging out there, but when we got there it was very loud and the staff were (I think) setting up to throw someone in the pool, so we turned around. There are 2 beaches on either side. The mononaftis beach is the easiest to get to and pretty quiet earlier in the day. Staff: the staff was always friendly and helpful. Sometimes it was difficult to ask the front desk questions because of a slight language barrier, but it always worked out. Location: Agia Pegalia is very beautiful, however, I would recommend a car if you want to do anything not at the resort. The views from the resort are phenomenal, especially if you like a good sunrise. A city bus comes by 4 times a day to go to Heraklion and back. We found the times a bit inconvenient because you would either be there for 3 hours or 7 hours, there was no in between. Lots of ATV tours in the area though.

Never EVER come to this “resort”. Go anywhere else. This is the worst, most unprofessional, and most disgusting resort experience ever. The AC did NOT work in our room. The room never got cold. Ever. The AC would push out air but it was never cold enough to actually lower the temperature of the room (the whole point of AC). If they didn’t have AC they should just say that and put in a decent fan instead of a mediocre AC system. When we went down the management after we left our AC on for four hours straight and the room temperature refused to go below 84 degrees F, they sent up an electrician who put his hand up in front of the AC pushing out air and he said it was working fine. Clearly, it wasn’t. He also tried to say that we must’ve left the door open or something when we reiterated multiple times that we hadn’t. The air outside on our balcony was cooler than inside the room with an AC that had been on for 4 hours on high. Management is the most unprofessional group of individuals who could be running this resort. Or, at least the woman at the front desk is. When our family had gone downstairs to speak to management about the AC not working, my mother had gotten frustrated with the heat and long travel so she silently gave my father the bag and went back upstairs to the hot room and began to cry softly as she did so as she was frustrated. Never once did she even look at the woman at the front desk or say ANYTHING related to her tears. Yet, the woman at the front desk had a LOT to say about my mothers silent cry. The woman, who clearly knows so much about human emotion, went on a rampage about how my mother shouldn’t be crying and has no reason to cry. Keep in mind, this woman was simply not involved even remotely. My mother had not been talking to her, my father had. This woman at the front desk just clearly had to interject herself into the situation and rudely make comments about my mother crying. Also, A MAN WHO TRIED TO COME FIX THE AC DID NOT KNOCK BEFORE UNLOCKING OUR DOOR AND ENTERED THE ROOM WHILE I WAS SHOWERING. Completely illegal. The room. The room is nothing like the pictures online. Our room consisted of two connected rooms each with its own bathroom. One room was very spacious, with a decently sized bed with windows along the wall. This room is fine. But, the other room is similar to that of a prison cell. This room had three beds in it (one of which felt like a brick) and one piece of decoration for the white beds, white walls, and white everything, which was a painting. The room had one painting and no windows. At least add a fake plant. Do not expect any good lighting in this room either as it’s just a musty yellow overhead light. The had the decency to at least put a painting on one wall to give the illusion of some sort of depth. I will also note that we had to request a comfortable bed and they had to bring in a whole new mattress. Do not believe the photos of the rooms. The food is bad. The free drinks are terrible too. Do not expect to get around this place easily. It is like a maze, and there are no signs anywhere about direction. Maybe a few.. but not enough. If you do not speak french, you are not the target audience. I spoke french as I've been learning it for 7 years; however, the rest of my family did not know the language. The shows, activities.. all of it was in French. Do not expect to participate in any events there as they are not catered to you. The "beach" is small, and you're only able to reach it by trekking up and down a GIGANTIC hill. Simply not worth it. A portion of it doesn't even have stairs. It's just a paved hill you have to walk on. This was supposed to be a luxury resort spot. It's a lazy excuse of one. Overall, the receptionist (Ana I think) was terrible. The food and drinks were terrible. The room (everything about it) was terrible. All of it was genuinely terrible. Do yourself a favor and never come here. Just my honest opinion.

my response to owners: they’re lying. seriously don’t come here. for ur own vacation....

+: Free of charge late check-out at 18:00 Beautiful nature and crystal clear water. Spacious room with a large terrace and panoramic view on the bay. Food: good pastry and pizza. Nice shop in 10 minutes walk with fruits and a good selection of wines without extra tourist surcharge.

I recommend to take running shoes, you can explore stunning cliffs around with breathtaking views on the seashore.
1: The word "subordination" has apparently never been heard of here.
It is required to wear a mask in the dining room, although masks are not provided.
The territory of the hotel, in particular all the sidewalks, are preferred to be washed during the day, so you need to either fly over a puddle or swim in it like pigs. I saw this for the first time. Usually, even in Egypt, this happens in the early morning (while everyone is sleeping).
4 ** unexpected. Hotel shoes have not been changed even once during the week. Oh yes, when we checked in, there were already residents in the room: 3 fat cockroaches, the size of the local breed is impressive. They were eliminated, new ones did not come.
The safe upon arrival was not working and was not screwed on. Solved this issue the next day.
Upon check-in, we waited for 20 minutes for someone to help us with the luggage (walk to the room is about 5 min by steps).
Plumbing: water starts to flow out of the floor drain next to the toilet when you shower. As a result, the whole bathroom turns into a huge puddle.
Coffee is extra charge everywhere except breakfast, the quality is below average, even for the extra.
The drinking water is awful, had to go to the store to buy.
And a control shot !!! On the departure day: the hotel dumped waste into the sea right under the sun beds on the beach at 9 am. They answered on the complaint about this (it just killed me here) that this is normal, as it is necessary to drain the waste somehow. I attach photos and videos.
There is also a photographer who obsessively takes pictures at the entrance to the dining room, and at breakfast in an obtrusive and rude manner tries to sell printed photographs.
P.S. Will not come back and DO...

There are little things that could be improved, but you have everything you need to feel...
