Wish we could have stayed here forever! First of all, the property is on a quiet corner of Pollonia with the most beautiful view of the sea. The location is perfect - you feel so far away from everything but it’s only a 6 minute easy walk to town. The property is very big for the size of the hotel so you don’t ever feel crowded and can spread out if enjoying the sun, the shade, the view or for breakfast in the morning. We arrived early in the day and spent the time waiting for our room to be ready while enjoying the view. My husband and I had just finished a week in Crete, an excursion to Meteora and several days in Athens with our kids who flew back home while we came to Milos for some rest and relaxation. Nefeli is so peaceful, we knew we were in the right place! Our room (#3) was perfect! Beautiful decorated with classic Cycladic style, so much storage for clothing and bags, a small kitchenette with all the amenities you can want, a beautiful bathroom with the best shower ever, an overhead fan and an AC that actually cools. Our patio was so lovely we spent one evening sitting enjoying some wine and Greek delicacies we bought at a local market nearby. You are given a bottle of white wine complimentary to the room and can also buy from the wine collection on property. We were so surprised at how few people take advantage of the sun beds and had a hard time leaving the property to go see the sites of Milos (which there are plenty). Breakfast is lovely and you can enjoy it in the breakfast area, or take the tray anywhere on the patio or to your room if you wish. There is also a private parking lot at the hotel should you decide to rent a car. Roula and Makis are lovely hosts and are always there to help if needed with anything. They arranged for our pickup from the airport for our stay. They also watched for when we were both out of the room enjoying the sun to send the staff in for refreshing. We couldn’t ask for anything more and will most definitely return someday when we...
Read moreThis was our second visit to Nefeli, having been there last october and vowing,on leaving, that we would return! Again we stayed in Suite no 5, which has a wonderfully large terrace with table and chairs plus two sunloungers. But its main attraction is the magnificent view over the bay and to the headland on the left, which the sun dips behind in the evening. Makis, our genial host, explained to us that the sunset earlier in the year, from April through to Aug/Sept occurs more centrally over the sea and is magnificent, of which I have no doubt. However I love the way in october, while the sun itself finally disappears behind the headland, it radiates its orange glow right across the sea and surrounding rocks bathing them in beautiful light.|Our room as before was very comfortable with lots of storage space, a huge wardrobe that also fitted our large suitcases, and lots of shelf space for tops and underwear. So many hotels and studios nowadays only have hanging space, it was a pleasure to be able to put everything away out of sight.|As already described, being situated a short distance outside Pollonia makes for a very peaceful stay, and Pollonia itself is situated on a lovely sheltered bay with very good restaurants. Adamantas, the main port, and Plaka, the capital, high on a hilltop, are well worth visiting also as are the catacombs, the amphitheatre with an amazing view down over the sea, and of course the site of where the Aphrodite de Milo (Venus de Milo) was discovered by a local farmer. There are beautiful beaches scattered across Milos also, and its worth hiring a car to see all the island has to offer.|But ,as I said last year, the main selling point of Nefeli Sunset studios is the family who run it. Makis and Roula take such pride in their wonderful establishment and in their Island. It's evident in the way they wish for their visitors to have the best time. And, oh yes, we...
Read moreThis small hotel is everything that you would need to have a nice vacation at a fair price in Milos. The rooms are very clean and the furniture is good quality, the room is big, the bathroom is top (there are 4 stars hotels which don’t have bathrooms like this), really big and with top quality sanitary objects. Everything is stilish at Nefeli, starting with the reception! Only by seeing it, you know that the place is run and owned by really special people, who care about their guests. Also, the place has an amazing sea view, probably the best at least from Pollonia, if not from the entire island. And a beautiful, green garden, which unfortunately we couldn’t use because the weather was horribly windy, but when the weather is good, it is really a piece of heaven. The breakfast, which was included, is plentiful and tasty, with home made delicacies (not typical “industrial” jams and pastries) - savory and sweet. The people running the place are amazing, very nice and helpful, ready to give you the best tips. Greek ospitality at its finest. The location is also very good, just a short walk from the center of Pollonia, where you can find some good restaurants. This hotel was one of the best we ever stayed in Greece (and we...
