With the exception of one rude waitress, our stay at Anax was incredible!
Room: We felt the rooms were /better/ than the pictures, that’s how nice they were. See video attached. Lots of things the pictures doesn’t capture - high ceilings, etc. They have weight scales and a rainfall shower.
Cleanliness: we happen to be in the room when the lady was cleaning the room and she was ridiculously thorough
Amenities: One of the amenities we used a lot but didn’t notice when booking was the jacuzzi — it comes with jets that move the water around and even a head rest that was really comfortable. Tub is big and fits too small / skinny people for a romantic night :) Our room was on floor 1 and had a phenomenal view (see pictures) — if you get to specify, I’d suggest a room on Floor 1 as you’ll get a view that sees the entire coastline. In addition to the pool, there’s also a small private beach area.
They were nice enough to allow us to use the facilities after checkout
Gym: Clean and very few people actually used it.
Breakfast: See the video attached — lots of different options to choose from and they even make you fresh lattes, cappuccinos, etc to order! Many things - fresh scrambled eggs, sunny side up, and egg frittata
Transport: there is a €2 per person local bus that drops you off a 5 min walk from downtown to Anax - if you’re cost conscious and going downtown multiple times, it’s a much better option than the 20 euro one way cost of taxis. The cheapest taxi offer we got was for €15
Transfers: hotel offers a €10 shared transfer per person to the airport or ferry or a €50 private transfer.
Service: Overall incredible with just one exception (see below).
Service Superstars: Tasos and Vasaliki (front desk) were both incredible! Tasos was my favorite, basically creating the best experience ever - he helped us as soon as we needed anything, very quickly. Vasaliki was very sweet and generous.
The Bad: The only bad part of our experience was specifically with one of the waitresses, Carolai (not sure how to spell her name, but it sounds like that in English, maybe Καρολίνα or Καρολίν).
While we were in the pool, one of the pool staff mistakenly took our room robe from our pool seat. When we noticed it missing, we simply asked Carolai for a fresh robe as the taken robe was thrown in the dirty towel basket. She was incredibly, incredibly rude and refused (even though it was her or someone on the staff that had made the mistake of taking the robe we were still using). We asked a couple times again politely, assuming maybe she didn’t understand English, but she continued to refuse rudely. Finally, we decided to just ask someone else — as soon as we did, they solved the issue in under 30 seconds with no rudeness. What was a bit worse is that she trash talked us in Greek, not realizing we could understand Greek 🤦♀️😂 so unprofessional.
Once we asked one of the other employees they were amazing! I was debating whether to remove a star because everything else except her was perfect but in the end, we decided to. Because usually for every 10 people who stay at a resort, only 1 person takes the time to write a review and provide feedback. Which means she may have been rude to many others and it simply hasn’t been brought to management’s attention. I think if management maybe talks to her and helps her become better with customer service, I think it will be a five star experience for everyone in the future. The feedback would be to not trash talk in Greek because you never know who understands, and also to aim to not be rude and provide good service / go above and beyond.
Conclusion: Besides that one interaction with the rude waitress, the entire experience at the resort was amazing! As mentioned, the rooms were better than the photos, almost all the staff were great, and we really felt the owner of the resort paid attention to small details that made the stay incredible - the smell as you walk through it, the golf cart, the little candle gift — the owner is clearly exceptional at what (s)he does. Would...

From the moment we arrived we were picked up like royalty from the port organised by Anax Hotel and Spa. On arrival we were met by an Angel called Vasiliki at reception it is hard not love her immediately with her warm and caring demeanor. Vasiliki works tirelessly to keep everyone happy. She has a heart of gold and is extremely professional. We even had the privilege to speak to the owner Evgenia. I am very grateful I had the opportunity to speak to such an empathetic, kind, honest, beautiful woman. Evgenia also has a heart of gold with high level interpersonal skills, outstanding communication and leadership skills. Evgenia is a very intelligent woman. After meeting Evgenia It is easy to see why this Resort is so outstanding, elegant and classy.
Next we were picked up with our luggage by an extremely wonderful gentleman Costas. He whisked us away to our room without having to lift a finger and he brought us with a large size buggy to our room. Whenever we needed a lift to the breakfast area, reception area or even for our departure including our many suitcases Costas was always at our door like a magician on time and ready to whisk us away stress free wherever, whenever we needed him. Costas always had cheerful banter and he never failed at making us smile. He was fantastic.
Anax resort and Spa is suitable for all ages as it has something for everyone from the stunning swimming pool with the twinkling lights that come on in the evening. To the beach below that is only a few steps from the pool. In the evening it is romantic for couples having a cocktail and watching the sunset. The breakfast and other dining at the restaurant was always delicious. I got a chance to speak to some of the staff at the restaurant and the bars and they were all friendly and very helpful. There are other surprises too like a Spa for relaxing treatments and a fitness area.
Even though the Resort is extremely beautiful and as soon as we arrived into our spacious room we could see the beautiful blue of the Aegean sea and we immediately relaxed and felt the stress melt away. For me though the most precious diamonds at this resort were the beautiful people I met because you can try to replicate buildings or the furnishings or landscaping but you will never be able to replicate these beautiful people being at their resort felt like a big warm hug I would highly recommend this resort its the best in Mykonos if I could give this resort 12 out of 5 stars I would. I feel 5 out of 5 stars dosen't really do it justice about how truly mangnificent it is...
Read moreI couldn't find a word to describe my stay there, it was absolutely more then marvelous and fantastic. I would love to give 6 stars if allow.
The hotel is very new which only opened from last summer in 2016 which is less than a year. Hard ware is in good condition apparently while everything are just new.
We stay in one of the hotels near the little Venice, they send us a transfer to pick us up which schedule at 1pm on complimentary basis as included in the package. However for some reason we had to amend the pick up twice in the very last minutes. I expected there will be a change occurred or they will release the car. Eventually, the car waited for 2hours because of our unorganized schedule. When we met the driver, he was super nice and sincere, proactively assisted with the luggage. This gave me a very impression of the hotel which the staffs are well trained and professional.
During the stay, all the staffs were so friendly and always with the smile on their face. This is world class! Even compared to others world known 5stars hotel brand, this is tip top.
To talk a bout the hardware, the hotel offers a very Nice view, I will say the best view for sunset, to enjoy a glass of champagne at the terrace while seeing sunset, nothing more, this is exactly the reason why we travel all the way there with 15hours flight.
We stayed in the junior suite which is very spacious in 35sqm. There are sperate washroom and bathroom. The bathroom is opened without door and facing the bedroom. A very nice jacuzzi bathtub which fit for one person, if it is big enough for two then I think you won't go to swimming pool.
We also take a look of the other room categories and I think the junior suite is what we want. Even some rooms offer private pool but I dun think you will need it. Because the private pool is relatively small and there are one small and two big infinity pool with the harbour in the hotel.
Well, everything is just too good. Even though the hotel has very limited restaurants and sightseeing surrounding. But trust me, you don't need that while everything there is amazing. A extremely recommended hotel to release,...
