Picked this hotel for its closeness to Mykonos New Port as we were island hopping. A huge bonus was the free shuttle transfer from the airport arranged by the hotel following an earlier request. Our room was at the front of the hotel, overlooking the ferry port, which although a busy view was pleasant to sit and watch off our balcony. From what we saw, most rooms seemed to have good outlooks. The room itself was large, bright and modern and very well equipped (coffee machine, fridge, tv etc). There were plenty of toiletries in the very pleasant, large bathroom, great shower.||The pool area was very pleasant to sit around, and not overcrowded when we were there in September. Pool towels were available. The bar and restaurant were very close to the pool, and we enjoyed having a drink by the pool, and enjoyed very good meals in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was good quality and with a good choice. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. ||There is a regular seabus to take you into Mykonos new and old town (which takes about 15 minutes) for around 2 euros per person, and this is located directly across the road from the hotel and runs very regularly, very enjoyable to travel on. Travelling in the opposite direction the nearest beach (Agios Stefanos) is less than half a mile away, and there is a bus stop outside the hotel, but you could walk there, though it is quite an uphill walk. We got the bus times confused, and a driver from the hotel took pity on us and kindly dropped us off at the beach. ||In summary, a very pleasant experience and we will definitely want to return to...
Read moreWe just spent 5 days at Makis Place and had the best experience. Got here at 10am, with a quick shuttle from the airport provided by the hotel, and already had our room ready- able to check in early. We booked the deluxe double room with a sea view and had the most gorgeous room. Incredibly clean and spacious, beautiful sea view from the relatively large balcony and pool view from the window. The pool was also wonderful, cool with comfortable sunbeds and options for shade as well. Breakfast was good, served at the hotel’s restaurant- molarki (also serves as a great option for easy lunch or dinner). The best part though, was the location. It made for us to be able to take trips around the island and explore it using public transportation almost exclusively. The hotel is located right at new port, where Sea Buses stop - which can take you downtown, and also right above a public bus stop (rare in Mykonos). That made the way to and back from anywhere much easier. Also at walking distance (about 10-12 mins) from Agios Stefanos beach, a beautiful, scenic, quiet beach which offers great sunbeds at a reasonable price- probably the best on the island. All in all, we had a wonderful experience, amazing value-for-money. I would definitely recommend Makis Place to anyone coming to Mykonos. Thank you to the amazing team here- everyone was so lovely and kind and made the experience perfect. We will...
Read moreFirst of all.. this hotel defo deserves more than 3 stars.. me and my partner stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and absolutely exceeded expectations! Also we checked out today at 11am and our flight is at 9pm - can you believe they let us still use the pool in the day and gave us towels to use?!
The pool is beautiful and the sun lounger chairs are super comfortable - there is a restaurant connected to the hotel that serves delicious authentic Greek food. The breakfast was really good.
Our room was a standard double and it had a balcony - nice air con - lovely bathroom - bed was super comfortable and even a safe if you need to store cash and a fridge to keep your water nice and cool!
If you’re thinking of booking this place - please do. It’s located just outside of Mykonos central town which may put some people off BUT you are literally right next to the seabus that costs €2 to the central town and it takes under 10 minutes and runs every 30 minutes till early hours of the morning.
I actually preferred staying outside the central town - beautiful local beaches and you are so close to the ferry port that you could do a day tip to Tinos which I really recommend!
The staff very accommodating- all in all a very amazing experience and we will be back! Also they have stored our luggage for free till our late flight!
Thank you for making our...
