I'll try to describe my experience, pointing out exactly what we felt about it. ||||As the title says, we had nothing to complain about with the rooms; everything was as expected. There was a great balcony, a table for dinner and an office desk. I counted three power outlets, the wi-fi signal was ok, everything pretty clean and tidy. There was also a free parking lot next to the building. The breakfast was really good; I liked it a lot!: plenty of greek food: yogurt, eggs, bread, coffee and much more.||When we arrived, the owner's son met us at the port with a signpost with our names, which was pretty nice. We got in his car and while he drove us to the hotel I tried to chat with him along the way, showing some amity and exchanging information about the island and everything. However, I could notice he was not that talkative - sometimes I asked something clear and sound and got no reply. When I insisted, he answered me, so I don't know why he had been so unempathetic - maybe he does not know that much English, maybe he's shy... either way, one thing I know is that people who deal with tourists are typically much more receptive and professional than that. ||The situation I've described above wouldn't be enough to qualify this hotel as bad as I have rated in this review, but what happened the next morning during the breakfast bothered me a lot: we went to the main building to have some breakfast (this hotel has actually two buildings: the Katerina and the Roza and the breakfast is served in the main building, the name of which I don't recall). While we were serving ourselves at the buffet table, my wife was asking some questions, just regular inquiries, like "do you have fresh orange juice? Where's the milk?". However, it was clear that the lady was really upset with anything we asked her and soon she started yelling at us in Greek. We didn't understand a thing of what she was complaining about, but it was clear it was not good at all. She was pretty rude with us and she's showed no empathy since the beginning; she was behaving like she was doing us a favor for hosting us.||That kind of behavior is pretty odd to me. I was not supposed to advise that, but it's pretty clear for most of the people that the host should be kind and receptive to his or her guests in order to make his or her business profitable. In this sense, their behavior was totally counterintuitive.||Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place, if you have a chance, look for some...
Read moreWe first stayed with Eleni at Romanza in 1993 and have stayed 4 times in all over the years since our first visit. Every time it feels like we have "come home". Eleni and Mina are very welcoming and helpful. The apartments are always immaculately clean and comfortable. Bedding and towels changed every day and bins emptied daily. This visit [5-12 September 2018] we stayed in the large end apartment. Spacious and well appointed lounge/dining/kitchen, good sized double bedroom and nicely decorated bathroom. The balcony accessed from the lounge/dining/kitchen is well proportioned with views over the rooftops to Prokopios and around to the Hora. There is also a small balcony accessed from the bedroom. The rooms [not bathroom] are air conditioned. Romanza is in a great location - mix of local/permanent residents and holiday accommodation, within a 5 to 10 minute walk to St Georges Beach, Court Square, the Port and Hora, parking is available a short walk away. Garden beds line the path at ground level and a communal outdoor seating area is available for guests' use. Across the road is a tap for village water - excellent for tea/coffee making. Delighted to be back and have no hesitation recommending Romanza and look forward to...
Read moreI spent 7 nights in August with 2 friends in this hotel. Location, breakfast and facilities were good (could have been better with the price we paid, but high season it is understandable). However the lady who owns the place called Katerina was extremely rude. She was taking our coffee mugs from our tables because the time was 10.05am and the breakfast was over at 10am. She made us feel very uncomfortable during breakfast in front of other customers because we got a pillow case dirty from hair products. Ourselves and other people staying at the hotel were shocked from this behaviour and it is not acceptable to pick up plates and coffee mugs from customers while they are still eating. However, her grandson George was very lovely and accommodating. I wouldn't stay there again just because of her...
