ELECTRA APARTMENTS & STUDIOS — Hotel in Municipality of Northern Corfu

I hope this review finds people that are thinking about booking an apartment here: avoid it at all costs!!!!!||What had happened?||I booked a studio apartment for 2 persons, it was|1. Crowded with insects (possibly moths)|2. Totally disgusting and damp smell straight from the sewers|3. The equipment of the room deviated from what was written online| -No "terrace" or "area for eating", just a small alley accessible for everyone in front of the apartment, where they put a table and two chairs| -no umbrellas available and only a few sunbeds were stacked together to pick, instead of the umbrella and sunbeds positioned on the beach (as suggested in the pictures)||After objecting these things to the landlord, they promised to have the room properly cleaned. When I checked again on the next day, nothing had changed (although I even met the cleaning personnel there). I told the landlord that this is enough and I will be moving to a different accommodation and want my money back. Firstly, they suggested to find a solution. However, after a while they told me that this is all my fault, since I left doors and windows wide open and therefore won't be refunding anything. When I entered the apartment the first time, all the insects, smell and everything was already there. Pathetic behaviour! Furthermore, they tried to convince me that these insects are very common on Corfu. None of the other two apartments, I had to stay in afterwards, had these. When returning the key at the end of the week, still insects and smell were there and waiting for the next people presumably.||You can also have a look at the pictures enclosed and see for yourself.||Back home, I contacted the European Consumer Centres Network. Only due to their great support, I managed to get 50% refunded after months of discussions. ||_||An Leute die überlegen hier zu buchen: unter allen Umständen vermeiden!!!!||Was war passiert?||Aufgrund schwerer Mängel in dem Apartment, konnte ich keine einzige Nacht dort verbringen: |1. Voller Insekten (wahrscheinlich Motten)|2. Feuchter und absolut schlimmer Gestank im ganzen Zimmer|3. Abweichende Angaben der Ausstattung: | -Auf deren Beschreibung online zu diesem Apartment steht, dass es einen "Zugang zur Terrasse" und "Essbereich" gibt. Eine Terrasse gab es nicht, das war eine Gasse vor der Tür, wo jeder vorbeilief und wo man einen Tisch und 2 Stühle hingestellt hatte. | -Auf den Bildern wird suggeriert, dass Stühle und Sonnenschirme am Strand aufgestellt sind. Die Betten waren alle aufeinandergestapelt dort, Sonnenschirme jedoch nicht||Nachdem ich diese Umstände umgehend am Ankunftstag reklamiert habe, hat man mir angeboten das Zimmer gründlich zu säubern und die Insekten zu entfernen. Ich willigte ein und verbrachte diese Nacht in einer anderen Unterkunft. Als ich am nächsten Tag gegen 12 Uhr dort auftauchte (und sogar den Putztrupp nach vollendeter Arbeit dort antraf) stellte ich abermals fest, dass weder der Geruch noch die Insekten verschwunden waren. An dieser Stelle beschloss ich endgültig in eine andere Unterkunft zu ziehen und verlangte das Geld zurück. Zuerst wurde zwar zugesichert, dass man hier eine Lösung finden würde. Etwas später wurde jedoch mitgeteilt, dass diese Mängel sogar meine Schuld seien, da ich angeblich die Fenster und Türen offengelassen hätte und daher nichts rückerstattet wird. Ich habe die Tür lediglich bei der Ankunft geöffnet und da waren die Insekten bereits alle vorhanden. Weiters wurde auch noch versucht zu erklären, dass diese Insekten überall auf Korfu seien. Weder in den beiden neuen Unterkünften, die ich buchen mussten, noch bei den Apartments der Schwiegermutter in diesem Ort waren solche Insekten zu finden. Als ich am Abreisetag abermals zurückgekehrt bin, um den Schlüssel zurückzugeben, habe ich erneut festgestellt, dass die Insekten inkl Gestank noch vorhanden waren. Eine weitere Reinigung dürfte es also auch nicht gegeben haben. ||Ich habe Bilder angehängt, jeder kann sich selbst sein Bild machen.||Als ich wieder zuhause war, habe ich das Europäische Verbraucherzentrum kontaktiert, mit deren Hilfe ich nach ewig langen Diskussionen zumindest 50% des Betrags nun erstattet...

Stayed 4 nights in the beach front bungalow. It was very clean and well presented in modern decor. The kitchen facilities where sufficiently adequate and the shower was good however the bathroom door handle kept falling off causing one to get stuck in the bathroom. The big main fault with the apartment was the lack of an internal seating area. The front room looking out to the beach is actually a bedroom, though a small round table and two chairs are also there. I would much have preferred a sofa in this area - maybe a bed settee would have been better to offer the option of additional bed instead. Its was also most disappointing that the patio doors directly to the beach where broken and would not open!!|The beach outside is not beautiful but it it is safe for children as very gently sloping. The few sun loungers provided where of very poor quality. Some where broken but generally looked dirty. The apartment is located on 'The Strip' and if you are looking for a quiet stay, look elsewhere as noise could be heard from the many English Bars until 4am each morning!|There is a supermarket very close by and free car parking 2 mins walk away. Many of the tourist sights like Cape Drastis, Porto Timoni, Canal d'amour...
