This place would deserve full five stars. Great location directly by the sea, lovely pool, even the studios are alright to Corfu standards. If it wasn’t the owners. Globetrotting the world, I haven’t experienced the rudest hosts and I can relate to every negative review under this site. We came to Arillas from Marathias and south of Corfu and stayed 4 days in Mirage studios. Every day we experienced a red flag situation with mostly Angela (my kids still talk about her like ‘that shouting lady’). Just a very brief list: 1. 35 degrees outside, we were passed the keys from the maisonette studio, entered it and the temperature inside was the same as outside. As I knew the studios were to be equipped by AC, I wanted to switch it on to cool down the room however I was not able to find the remote controllers. Went to Angela to ask for it who responded in a not polite manner that AC is paid extra 7 euros / day per AC and that I could find that information on their website. My bad, I didn’t notice such an information. Who could guess that if you pay 260 euros per night (!!!), the AC is not included. I do not mind to pay, however the way Angela talked to me was so disrespectful and unprofessional, that I could not hide the disappointment. 2. We didnt receive any proper welcome when we arrived. We just got the keys and that was it. No one gave us any information about the restaurant, options of breakfast, opening hours of the pool, AC extra charge, wifi password. For every single piece of information, you have to go back to the bar and ask about it. I could live with if the following incident hadn’t happened. 3. My kids (5,7,10) wanted to experience ‘night’ swimming in the pool. It was exactly 9pm when they jumped into the pool. Within 5 mins the pool lights were turn on and at that point Angela’s husband approached us yelling that the pool is closed and the kids should immediately get out. Then he came to me, and with the same high pitch voice asked me that what sort of mother I am letting kids into the pool so late and when the lights in the pool are lit. If I want them to get killed by the electric shock. I could not believe my ears. I went to him again and politely asked him not to shout at me in front of my kids as they are scared. Angela’s was standing there as well and instead of an apology, she just shouted back ‘No, they are not scared, believe me’. At that point, I decided to submit my first negative accommodation review. 4. The next day – sunbeds next to the pool, we used a towel from the rooms for shading as the sun was shining on our heads. Again Angela’s yell from the bar area that the towels are just for inner use, we have to use our own towels for outside. 5. No mosquito nets on the windows neither on the doors (and no outside shutters), you just cannot leave the doors open overnight as swarm of mosquitos will attack in a second. They will do so anyway, even with the door closed. And I will stop here though I could continue with few more points. PS. Please note this review might not be relevant if you come through a UK travel agent with full package covered. However as a solo traveler, I would highly encourage you to avoid this place.

Disappointing Despite Beautiful Location – No Real Hospitality I paid €140 per night during a 35 °C heatwave – only to find the air conditioning in the room was broken. I reported it, but was repeatedly told to “wait another half hour” – even after waiting 8 hours. The female owner spoke harshly and refused a room change. Instead, I was given a portable AC unit without an exhaust hose that blew hot air into the room. It never cooled below 26 °C, even at night. When I politely asked for written confirmation that the AC was defective, this was refused. Only after I mentioned health concerns and possible legal steps was another room suddenly found – directly above the first one. So clearly, it had been available all along. The most upsetting part: the owner was cold, unfriendly, and even tried to blame my partner, falsely claiming he opened a window (the AC wasn’t even on yet, and all windows were already open when we arrived). No apology, no accountability. Positive note: Her son later apologized and helped us move – I truly appreciated his effort. Unfortunately, another incident followed two nights later: around 1:30 a.m., the power (including AC) went out only in our apartment. The son responded quickly and explained it was likely a local phase issue. While I believe him, I was understandably scared and cautious after what had happened earlier. His tone was defensive – I wasn’t accusing him, just unsure. Still, he helped us move back to the original room, where the AC had since been fixed. Final thoughts: Stunning setting and pool, but the way problems were handled was deeply disappointing. No empathy, no real hospitality. For travelers with medical needs or anyone expecting care and professionalism – I cannot recommend this place.

Apartment basic by our own previous family holidays in villas, but totally adequate for purpose and typical of Greek holiday accommodation for two. Hosts very friendly and will help with anything asked..They work long hours to ensure your best possible holiday experience. Pool and grounds are clean tidy and well kept if a little tired. Location couldn't be better for beach and sea swimming. Clean sandy strip beach which is good for youngsters...no wonder people return year on year. Clientele currently predominantly mature but we are here out of school holidays. Good food at Mirage and at also pretty much every location in village all within a 2 to 10 minute walk. Cocktails and a coffee or beer are on tap all day and evening, as are snacks and cooked meals, including breakfast. Relaxed ambience, usually recognized as a laid back place to stay and whole area bustling but genuinely quiet. Prices everywhere are more for all the reasons we know about in Europe but Arillas and Corfu as a whole is still reasonable value for money and it's good to support family run businesses that have suffered over last two years, just as we try to do back in UK. Weather gorgeous which always helps. Things to watch for are extra charges for air-conditioning, daily charge 7euros plus units used... The one down on our holiday was last two days when family group from hell descended. Saying anymore will be against site guidelines and it was not the hosts fault at all, they cannot predict who they get arriving it seems, but (sadly!) we were glad to leave after two days of their anti social behaviour in and around the pool, foul language, family arguments and noise at night. A real shame.

I want to start by saying that I’m originally from Colombia, but I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. The way I ended up in this magical hotel was quite unexpected—I was planning to attend a festival called Colibrí, and luckily, someone in the Colibrí Festival group on the Telegram app was giving up her reservation with the Mirage hotel after finding a place to stay with friends.

Was I just that lucky? Yes, I absolutely was.

Now that I’m back in the States, Mirage still lives in my heart like a burning flame. This beautiful place is run by a wonderful family—a true mom-and-pop business—and what a gorgeous, kind-hearted family they are. They are respectful, attentive, and go above and beyond to help with anything you need.

The hotel room has air conditioning, its own restaurant, and let me tell you—the food is freaking delicious! The lamb and the watermelon juice? God help us all, it was divine!

The location is perfect. You’re close to everything you might need: currency exchange, local markets (some open until 1 a.m. or later) like Irmas cafe where all the cool kids hangout after the party is over, souvenir shops, and even beauty services (check out Arillas Fish and Spa and lovely owner !). It’s also near the pharmacy (Qapmakeio) and Dr. Papadopoulos’ medical center (Iatreio/Medical Services)—which I had to visit due to a blocked ear (turned out to be earwax). Great doctor which his specialization ended up being in audiology, ha! :)

Oh, and the beach? It’s literally across the street from the hotel!!!!!!! All of it is walking distance!

You can also rent a car or bike or arrange pickup services with Ms. Hope and her daughter from Arillas Travel around the counter. Everyone I encountered there was kind, generous, and full of heart. It reminded me of my Colombian roots. Where have these people been all my life?

I genuinely cannot wait to go back.

Ms. Angela, her husband, their two sons, and her sister-in-law—thank you dearly from the bottom of my heart.

I MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!! YOU ARE TRULY...
