It’s the first time I’ve visited Arillas, recommended by my good friend Lois.

The beach was absolutely stunning, the sea was unbelievably clear and warm.

We decided to have a peaceful day by the beach and booked a couple of sun beds that Ammos Restaurant was cheaply hiring out.

We were served by the lovely Ina who was so polite, professional and a credit to the business.

Ammos has gone from father to son for several generations. Leonidas, the current owner, helped out here when he was just 6 years old when his father ran the bar.

He had always dreamed that one day he could turn Ammos into a place where people could chat while eating, sit in the bar area but most importantly a place where people could come and relax.

Well after my visit for a few hours he has certainly achieved his dream….

The friendly, relaxed atmosphere was surely helped by his lovely family who are also a major part of this lovely place.

Serving amazing cocktails, made with fresh fruit, an amazing array of alcoholic and soft drinks, snacks and a menu serving some lovely dishes, plus the stunning location, you will be lucky to find anywhere like it in the area, if not Corfu itself.

I was lucky enough to chat to the owner ‘Leo’ who was interested in my book about Corfu and also my food and travel blog “Recipes from my travels”

When he realised I was a retired professional chef he organised a selection of small tasting dishes, kindly prepared by his amazingly talented Chef Eugene, who I had the pleasure to chat to.

One of the waiters kindly brought our feast of some of the finest dishes you could wish to taste, to our sun loungers….this was surely heaven…..such as Cod Fritters, so fresh and flavoursome, it was served with a delicately made Aioli sauce that wasn’t overpowering with heat from the garlic…it was just perfect!!

A selection of spinach & feta pies, sliced and served with touches of salad and nuts. These were not too thick, just the right size with the right amount of filling….Stunning.

Feta in filo with sesame seeds, Spring rolls delightfully filled with cream cheese and…now I hope I’m correct, Loukoumades perfectly cooked with honey.

Ammos is definitely the place you want to go for total relaxation, food that will amaze you and the beach & Sea well……it’s perfect for families with children as their is no sudden drop to a deeper depth, even I had a swim….the first time ever in the sea, Honestly (I’ve Got to say Lois brilliantly commented that the “sea was slightly over seasoned” ) well it made me laugh !!

It was a perfect end to a lovely weekend and I really can’t thank Leo, his family, Lois, who is my lovely holiday housemate, who invited me to go with her and the wonderful staff who were just brilliant, enough.

And lastly to the charming and lovely “Ina” who I would gladly visit again just to see her smile.

Well done on being the most perfect hosts. I really hope I can see you all again.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would in a heartbeat, just recently returned from my trip to Corfu, as I do every year, dined in so many places some you get what you pay for,others you don't get what you pay for, and then there is Amos where you get more than what you pay for. Been back a .week now and im still craving those Delicious dinners that I was served in this establishment, don't let this place fool you as I thought it was a coffee/ bar lounge it also serves some of the most delicious meals not only in Arillas but in my oppinion has to be one of the best in corfu, and that's coming from a restaurant owner in the United States On the way back to USA we stayed 2 days in Vienna were having dinner with the same group we dined in Amos and all of us agreed that even this highly rated restaurant in Vienna couldn't compete With the quality and deliciousness of Amos,besides having their delicious offerings would also like to point out that their service was top notch , professional ,curtious, and extremely attentive ,the ouner Leonidas made us feel as though we were guests at his house and he made sure our dinning experience excellent, and excellent it was, he helped us pick out 7 meals for our party, and to my amazement they were all equally delicious, this will be my go to place when I want Delicious dinners,and impress friends and family Thanks to all of Amos staff,and my hat off to Chef Evgenios.see you next...

Ammos Beach Bar Café, A class of it’s own A visit to Arillas is not complete without a visit to Ammos Beach Bar. Take place on one of the supercomfortable beachbeds and let yourself be served or grab a table at the opposite bar and give in to total relaxation. Ammos has gone from father to son for several generations. Leonidas, the current owner, served at this place already when he was 6 years old and his father runned the bar. He dreamed of one day turning this bar into a place, which had the simplicity of a bar where everyone feels at ease, combined with the style of the best bars and cafes. He did it! This familyrun company, runned by Leonidas, his wife Roula and his son and daughter, is a stylish bar with a very laidback atmosphere. This is because of the relaxed music, friendly service and views of the nearby sea and some of the islands closeby. And let’s not forget the excellent snacks and drinks!
