Brouklis Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Northern Corfu

Was served by the owner who was so helpful. My wife is vegetarian and was not sure what to have. Owner suggested trying the vegetable moussaka (Wife has tried in UK restaurants and has never like as aubergine is usually cooked to death!). He also said if she did not like he would get the chef to cook something else for her what excellent service! She said this tasted very nice and I tried a bit myself and would have happily eaten. I had chicken with lemon potatoes and veg which was very nice also. Owner brought my wife complimentary home made orange cake and ice cream for trying the moussaka. I have been coming to Brouklis since I was a small child with family, and it has always been my favourite place to eat in Arillas, having probably eaten here multiple times over 10 or more holidays. Most recently I stayed in Corfu with my other half and made the trip to Brouklis twice. Despite being fully booked Dimitris fit us in both nights.

The setting is beautiful underneath the grapevines, it has a social but traditional corfoit vibe - after all they do love eating together!

Dimitris is a fantastic host, explaining the days specials and how the food is prepared. If you visit keep an ear out for how many languages he can speak.

Just about got a table around 8pm. After that there was a queue for a table. I don't think this is normal but it always seems to be reasonably full if we walk by around 8pm. Menu is quite small with mostly traditional Greek dishes. To be honest it's like you've been invited into a Greek home and you're sharing in a family meal. So if you want restaurant quality food then go somewhere else. Of you want traditional, home cooked Greek food then you'll probably enjoy it here.
