Mythos Beach Hotel Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Platanias

A good price for the money, all basic needs are covered. The host is helpful, yet forgot to mention air show that happens every year and we experienced the whole range of stress emotions when in the middle of a sleepy Sunday we saw (and hear, terribly loud sound of F-16) a fighter jet maikibg circles above our heds. Our 3 y. o. daughter was crying and very scared and it took a week for her to get over any loud noise and it takes now a lot of work to get her into an airplane. Apart from fighter jets once a year on 20 May, the hotel is kids friendly, the swimming pools has kids area, there is a playground next to the hotel and a pony :) Tavernas next to the hotel serve good food, we liked both: Mythos restaurant and taverna Malame. If you need a supermarket, non-touristic one is about 5-7 minutes walking, two touristic are about 50 meters from the hotel. You can get to Chania by bus in about 30 minutes, but if you want to see more, it is necessary...

We stayed here at the end of June / start of July 2019 and we fell in love with the place. We loved it from the moment we arrived late at night and could hear the waves crashing onto the beach and we were met by the lovely Andreas who could not have been more helpful and the welcome Raki was a lovely touch . The room was very spacious with balconies to the front overlooking the sea and and to the rear looking up to the mountains. The rooms were serviced very regularly and there was fresh towels nearly every day and ample supply of toilet roll which is not always to the case. My wife loved the fact that we were able to leave the balcony open at night with no problems with the mozzies but that was probably be because it was windy while we were there. Esperienza veramente positiva! Abbiamo trascorso io il mio compagno e la mia bambina di otto mesi due settimane in un appartamento di questa struttura, dotato di ogni comfort, aria condizionata ,cucina con stoviglie, bollitore, tostapane, divano, camera spaziosa, bagno comodo ove presente addirittura un asciugacapelli , cassaforte,terrazze vivibili con tavoli e sedie vista mare (distante solo 20 metri)e vista Monti, non importa nemmeno accendere l’aria condizionata la notte perché arriva una piacevole aria e dormire con il rumore delle onde del mare non ha prezzo, perché è situato in un paesino molto tranquillo che di notte non c’è nessun rumore che disturba. Accoglienza ottima con drink di ben venuto nel bar/ristorante di fronte che porta lo stesso nome dell’hotel ma gestione differente, proprietario gentilissimo e disponibile a qualsiasi richiesta. La camera veniva giornalmente pulita con il cambio asciugamani e la ragazza addetta alle pulizie è molto precisa e gentile. Punto forte è anche la piscina con ombrelloni e lettini a disposizione, dopo una giornata di mare fa sempre piacere un po’ di relax a bordo piscina. Dotato in aria comune di lavatrice ed asciugatrice (tornare a casa dopo una vacanza con gli abiti già puliti é veramente comodo). Per gli appassionati anche area palestra con tapis roulant, cyclette, ellittico, corda per saltare e step. Insomma non manca proprio niente . Parcheggio privato e addirittura ombrelloni e lettini in spiaggia a disposizione! L’ubicazione per chi cerca una punto strategico per la visita di Creta Occidentale é perfetta a pochi minuti dal centro di Platanias e Agia Marina che la sera offrono tantissimi ristoranti bar e negozi, un po’ più distante ma facilmente raggiungibile in 20 minuti attraverso la New National Road la splendida Chania. Ad un ora da Rethimno anch’esso molto bella. Punto strategico anche per raggiungere le più belle spiagge di Balos, Elafonissi e Falassarna. Addirittura il giorno della partenza che dovevamo lasciare la stanza entro le 12, siccome il nostro volo partiva alle 22 il proprietario è stato così gentile da darci una stanza su cui appoggiarci per lasciare le valige, poter restare in piscina il pomeriggio e usufruire per fare la doccia prima di ripartire. ( ci avrebbe lasciato anche nella nostra ma gli serviva per una prenotazione che sarebbe arrivata il pomeriggio). Niente da criticare è stato veramente un soggiorno piacevole che consiglio a tutti perché per ultima cosa ma molto importante da considerare il prezzo...
