Chontro’s & Ligno’s — Restaurant in Municipality of Platanias

As a Cretan, I have to be honest. The food was tasty and the man was friendly, you even get a small pot of mayonnaise. But the place is not clean – he was smoking inside while we were eating. The pita is €3.80, which is too much, because for €4 you can find a proper pita with enough meat. Maybe that’s why people give good reviews, because of the price and because yes, the taste is good. Dinner was tasty, beef in red sauce came in a bed if fries. The beef was really yummy! Chicken in pita was tasty, came with fried in the pita.

We also did breakfast there. The omletes was where it was at. My semi picky 2 year old ate an entire one so I had to order a 2nd one for myself.

The strawberry crepe was extremely sweet as it was more of a strawberry frosting vs fresh strawberries, not really what we were looking for. Took a pic below.

Just bring your money somewhere else. The place was close to our hotel and open also at late in evening, but I cannot see any other pro to this place. Food is cheap but at the same time also ridiculously bad. Service is quite nice and ambient also - but unfortunately it doesn't help.

We took different things: traditional dishes, pitas and hamburgers. Everything was cold and just bad tasting: not fresh neither tasty. We cannot suggest this place...
