Mike Studios & Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Platanias

Returned back from 2 incredible and relaxing weeks here with hubby! ||HIGHLIGHTS|1) One of the things that sets this apart from other resorts is how very PEACEFUL it it, it is more than just a pretty pool! In our 2 weeks there it attracted the 50+ age range and people committed to a quiet relaxing holiday no big personalities!|2) The BOOK SWAP is the best I have ever seen, I ran out of books in week 2, so thank you!|3) The POOL MUSIC is also the best, its usually 1990s abroad but this was refreshing and modern!|4) The BOUDOIR area in the bedroom was so pretty, so nice to sit there and do my hair and makeup|5) MODERN bedroom and bathroom|6) The staff were FRIENDLY but not in your face, which we like|7) The POOLSIDE has lots of different spaces you can move in between, lounges, seats, bar area, grass area etc|8) EXCELLENT RUN ROUTES - Hubby and I ran nearly every day on holiday and there was excellent out and back routes and lots of runners too|9) We used the supermarket SYNK alot, there is a Lidyl but it's quite a distance and tbh the local one was pretty decent price wise and there was alot of good stuff in it so we stuck to that!|10) We ate in the RESTAURANT one night and it was beautiful, lots of fab photos for the socials there with its pretty back drop! Also free cake which was divine and I liked that the lady spotted we didn't drink alcohol so didn't bring any over for us, good service here! |11) Ate in MYTHOS too, delicious food and warm and friendly service (the first blue restaurant on the beach)|12) Fabulous walks here into the town for those who enjoy a bit of exercise|13) Room 204 did have 2 balconies, which was practical!|14) Lovely welcome when we arrived and I loved my free postcard, thank you!||IMPROVEMENTS|1) The main room and kitchen in 204 was super old fashioned! To make it a bit prettier maybe add a few more modern pictures, accessories, cushions etc, it didn't make for a good first impression|2) There is only 1 wardrobe so less space than we usually get when we are abroad, not as much room room to put clothes etc||Loved this holiday experience, if you want excitement, this is not for you! We stayed here as a family of 3 - 2 adults and a teenager, bed and breakfast for 1 week in July. |We picked a 1 bedroom apartment with a private pool.|It was our first trip to Crete and we could not have hoped for a better stay. |Room was amazing, small kitchen with fridge etc and toaster and kettle. 2 sofa beds, a dining area, bathroom and bedroom. Everything you need and cleaned daily.|We had a private patio and pool, it was amazing and allowed us to enjoy sun and shade as needed. Pool was lovely and sunbeds were of high quality. |There is a pool bar for snacks and drinks which are very reasonably priced and great quality. You can pay each time or you at end of the day. They let us take drinks away to the room if requested. |The restaurant is at the top of the hill and is used for breakfast and evening meals if required. Breakfast offering is a little limited but all of good quality and something for most - continental with cheese and ham, pastries, cereal and some eggs, bacon and toast etc. coffee and juices etc available. |The evening meal is superb, lots of choices, really well priced and amazing quality. Lots of extra little drinks, dessert etc provided free of charge which make it feel special, priced very, very competitively. Cheaper and better than restaurants locally. |Overall, what really stands out here is the service level, it’s very high. Family run and it feels like you are a VIP. They over deliver at every possible point. Many people there are repeat customers and we can see why, we will definitely go back and have recommended to others. We just stayed here for 10 days with some family and wow, what an incredible holiday we had. The apartment we stayed in was spotlessly clean and cleaned daily with regular sheet and towel changes. The accommodation had everything you needed a hairdryer a full kitchen and the bathroom wow the shower I was so sad to leave this behind. It was the best hotel shower I’ve ever had. The accommodation was perfect. The swimming pool was very clean. The staff were amazing. Manos and his team deserve their five star rating from me. Everybody was so friendly and so helpful all the time, even on the nights we made them stay up till 2 am drinking in the bar they still had a smile on their Faces. The location of this property is directly opposite a beach which was very inviting ‘ most people we met were there for their third or fourth time and I can see why, I felt safe the whole time I was there. The cleaners worked so hard to maintain a high standard throughout our stay it was so peaceful The only sound I heard was the sea crashing into The Shore.
