Dyo Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

We were thoroughly spoilt at Dyo Suites for a week - lovely boutique hotel & fabulous staff who made us feel welcome. We stayed in the executive suite, which had a fantastic view. As we were celebrating our anniversary, they had even decorated the room & left us a bottle of bubbly! The room was lovely, though could do with a lick of paint/tlc - and what we didn't realise until we arrived was that there's only a glass wall between the shower and the bedroom, i.e. no privacy when showering. Even as a couple, that's a bit weird as we both appreciate being able to shower in privacy. It was great to be so close to the beach, where we spent most of our days - just across the street from the hotel! Absolutely recommended hotel & did not want to leave!||We loved:|- the hotel breakfast - amazing!|- the views from our room - direct seaviews|- being so close to the beach, which was lovely. Brilliant service on the beach too!|- the rooftop jacuzzi |- the staff & how well we were looked after|- the grounds - beautiful little oasis|- the distance from the town - a 20 min walk, meaning more peace & quiet + we had a good walk every day along the paved promenade |- Rethymno town. Lovely place! So many good restaurants in town. Apart from the hotel restaurant, avoid the restaurants nearby - the ones in town are much better and authentic. ||What could have been better:|- the suites need a little tlc. There had obviously been a water leak inside the wooden sink at some point, leaving the cupboards damaged & stained. Lots of instances where damaged walls etc had been painted over, poorly. The jacuzzi was a bit tired.|- the above-mentioned privacy. That was a bit awkward!|- there's a very strong perfumey scent in the hotel, which was a bit too much. 5 STARS!!! Our stay could not have been better at this very fresh boutique hotel! My wife and I traveled from Florida to Crete with our 2 teenage children (18 & 16) and stayed for 6 nights in the quadruple room named "Auroum." The view from our balcony over the terrace to the beach directly across the street was just perfect. We felt the sun and sea breeze fill our room each day. The service was impeccable as the staff (especially Zoe and Maria) and Chef went out of their way to make certain our 1st stay on the island was special. They helped us arrange for transportation to and from the airport and also ordered rental cars that were brought directly to the hotel for us. They helped us plan day trips to Previli and Chania beaches too. Truly a caring group!

The rooms are equipped with smart technology touch pads that control the A.C. (worked perfectly), fan, lights, do not disturb, and call for service. Very very convenient. Our room even had its own private in room jacuzzi!

Freshly squeezed juices compliment an artistically arranged and very delicious breakfast buffet with very high quality ala carte items to choose from (all included with the price of the room).

Right next door is a small supermarket making it very easy to grab quick essentials. Chairs and umbrellas are reserved for you at the beach free of charge. The Wi-Fi had a very strong signal and even reached to the beach area making my teenagers very very happy! :)

Located a quick 5 euro cab ride from old town (we walked it several times) and quick access to all areas of Rethymnon made our vacation quiet and VERY convenient.

We stayed with Dyo for 7 nights and loved our experience with them. Our booking was for a suite with an outdoor hot tub and breakfast included.

The original booking was delayed by 2 years due to COVID related travel restrictions. Dyo were very responsive and it was easy for us when we had to reschedule on two separate occasions. After the delay, we think it was worth the wait!

Dyo is very well located being across a road from the beach and surrounded by some fantastic restaurants and handy supermarkets. It's also a short walk away from the harbour and old town and we were able to walk to the bus station for our trips to other parts of the island.

We were very impressed with the room as it felt so spacious and had a very attractive and modern design. The smart controls for the room was a great feature - easy to operate and very convenient.

There was a lot to choose from on DYO's breakfast menu, the included breakfast offer was generous and every morning felt like a luxurious dining experience. The coffees were also made to a high standard and deserve a mention in this review as we looked forward to our daily coffee before leaving DYO to start our days out.

It was a great team at DYO and we enjoyed all of out interactions with the staff. The reception staff, cleaners, breakfast waiting staff and beach staff were all fantastic at their roles. They were very attentive and always happy to help. We had some questions about planning trips and catching buses around the island and we are very grateful for the advice we received.
