MAR EL Furnished Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

The negatives: |-The pillows were very flat |-The door frame had loosened from the wall so there was a gap where hot air seeped in, you could easily see outside and you could hear everything going on outside.|-The luggage room where we kept our bags was a walk through room that everyone used when going from their rooms to the pool. It did NOT feel safe leaving the bags there on our last day before going to the airport.|-The room was in need of some renovation.|-The cutting board was quite nasty.|-There was only one big stove top for cooking.||The positives:|-The view of the ocean from the balcony.|-How close the beach was.|-You could barely hear the traffic from the road outside.|-Sarah in the reception was a gem!|-The kitchen had an oven.|-There was plenty of clothes hooks scattered around the room.|-The bathroom was nice and the water pressure was...

The hotel is perfectly placed next to the beach, about a 20-30 minute walk into the old town, but with lots of restaurants and super markets nearby. The room was nice and clean, with a good set up for some easy cooking in your room, and air conditioner, and a small tv with some Greek channels to choose from. The view from the balcony is beautiful and I would watch the sunset and waves every evening.

The room wasn't perfectly isolated, and the road outside, along with the ocean, can be a bit noisy, but it wasn't too bad in my opinion. I couldn't find any iron in the room, but I don't know if this can be provided if asked for.

Initially they placed us in an apartment on the backside of the building. As soon as we opened the curtains, we saw that you looked straight up a hill, which was rather as good as no view at all. They were willing to make a switch though, so after we came back from lunch, we got received the keys to an apartment on the front side. The room is big, clean, but a bit outdated.
