WORLDS SPORTS CAFE EDEM — Restaurant in Municipality of Rethymnon

The owner is the rudest person ever, doesn't know how to treat people, "customer service" doesn't exist in his vocabulary, this place looks worse than a supermarket. The Cretan authorities should pay him a visit and see what rules he forces to customers (tourists mostly): only cash, minimum consumption, horrible and arrogant service, abadoned toilets, fighting with clients, kicking out clients. And the worst is that he ignores the bad reviews about the same always and still replies rudely (actually he copies and paste the same rude responses). Man!, you just have an old bar with screens with small list of drinks, totally normal in all around the world. Advice: Take it easy, enjoy life, treat well the clients, respect the clients, be flexible, SMILE and be happy to have clients. Because one day someone will open a bar with screens close to you, offer better and friendly service, with clean and better atmosphere place and you will be out of the market. This place is shame for Cretan people, because the person who works as а waiter is very unwelcome. Every drink (cola, fanta, sprite-as he says, and as he only has) costs 5€ and when your drink is to the end, he thakes the bottle and waits for you to order more. If you order many beers, he will organise for you private tv, if you drink only one drink he will not say you goodbye. And you can’t sit where you want, because you have to sit there where he perimt it to you. Shame for warmharted Cretan people. Don’t go there. And the host doesn’t tell the true-the menu isn’t on the table. ,,Friend”(like you say it), if you have to pay for the eleven channels, that doesn’t meen that we are sheep, so you can ask for 5€ for one drink. From the responds, we can see how ,,friendly” and ,,kind” is the atmosphere. ,,If you don’t like, go elswhere”-you’re saying. Of course I will go to another place, althoe I’m passing by your caffe everday. (I think that hygiene isn’t great) Very disappointed by this caffe, it has nothing with Cretan great...

Reading through some of the other 1 star reviews and they all say similar things and yet the owner seems unwilling to listen and quick to blame the people coming in with no reason. It does not state outside that it is cash only or that it is a 2 drink minimum to watch the sport despite having big screens facing the street so the response to some of these reviews saying "my prices are stated" is also false. We weren't even offered a menu before he decided we could not watch there and throwing people out before they've even said hello is frankly rude. Understandable if we were a drunk group of lads at midnight but we were a sober couple at 6pm who just wanted to watch the tennis he was advertising and we did try to buy a half liter of wine so it's not like we were trying to sit for free. I do not understand the business model of no customers is better than people with one drink...
