We stayed here for 2 weeks (25/08/25 to 09/09/25 ) |Absolutely loved it, loved its simple calm family run vibe! |Our room simple very clean and had everything we needed. Esmeralda our maid was fabulous and her towel art, beautiful. Cleaned daily, linen and towels changed regularly. |Fortis, greeted us on arrival and in his calm quiet manner explained all we needed to know.|The waitresses and bar staff super helpful and professional…. Melina, Lilian and the young waitress who had a really pretty name beginning with T (gutted I can’t remember it, but her name unique to Rhodes). The bar team funny, friendly always smiling ! Talking about smiling, Petros who I swear I met in Faliraki back in the day (you don’t forget a smile like that!) He made 2 new cocktails, banana colada and night in Vegas … both became my chosen tipples! |And Nikos, super helpful happy guy who comes into his own on karaoke night (hearing is believing lol).|The reception staff kyriaki and Matina, lovely to. Without their recommendation I wouldn’t have had my very excellent massage by Alexandros, treatment performed outside beneath the shade of the trees. Highly recommend.|We booked a late check out room for 6pm as our flight home wasn’t until 2am. But they gave us another room that we could stay in until the coach came to collect us… a lovely thoughtful touch to the end of our stay ! |We split our time between being poolside and beach. Beach is only a short walk and we found Harry’s Beds €7.50 each for the day … lovely thick plush mattress sun loungers with wooden parasols. That would be my only criticism of Matoula, they need to invest in some comfy sun loungers.|The food at Matoula is top notch, compliments to the chefs. We also dined at Tomatini Italian restaurant Pegasus restaurant and Taverna by the bay (behind Harry’s beds) not one bad meal anywhere… all delicious.|We will be...
Read moreAbsolute heaven for allergies.
The hotel is very good. They meet the standard of a greek 4 star hotel. Very clean rooms. Nearly everything is handicapped accessible. Also in the Bathroom is an help button in case of emergency. The service is absolute extravagant and just perfect. Everyone is just a shiny sun who truly wants to bring joy and everything we need. Morning - Afternoon - Midnight. Every Time avail. So the food was very good. Our flight was delayed so originally we came too late at the first day to eat - they knew we were coming and extra for us the buffet was still opened. Also I have a big issue with food allergies. At the first evening one of the girls from the hotel jumped right into explaining every bit of gluten free food and what could be contaminated and in case I want something different, what they could make me in the kitchen. Over the days more and more precise and clear marks at the food directly appeared so every day it was such a strong improvement. Also for some midday snack they have the restaurant. I was speechless how much Allergie fine it was! Pizza, Pasta, bowls, soup, bread, they could make me nearly everything I wanted.
The pool was very clear and they have enough sun, shadow and beds outside for everyone. No need to Reservate early, even when you only come in the afternoon, everyone found a place.
You can also have a seat at the free pc if you need something. Also the internet is extremely good. No issues at all streaming 4 k movies even in busy hours.
Due to the location being very near to the airport every 15 minutes a airplane is flying by very close. It’s pretty loud but the rooms are isolated very good - when all is closed it isn’t very loud.
It was a nearly perfect holiday and surely we...
Read moreThis was our second visit to the Matoula Beach hotel, the first was a wedding party trip back in 2022. The hotel hasn’t changed much in that time. We have really enjoyed the 2-week stay, the weather was excellent and it’s the staff that make this place a worthwhile experience.|The hotel is quite isolated and is a 30-minute walk into Ialysos and about 25-minute walk into Kremasti. Both towns have decent restaurants to eat/drink at and if you don’t want to walk, the taxi fare is approx €10 each way. |There are several bars/restaurants near by that are lovely (Pegasus, Rosemary and Ideal bar) and the hotel also does nice food for lunch and evening meal.|The pool area is nice; my option is that it would be great to have hard standing for the sun-beds because it’s just grass, which to me doesn’t seem right but it must be a Greek thing. The main bugbear with the hotel is that the sun-beds need replacing, a lot of them have dodgy sockets, which mean that if you lie back, some of them will just fall flat, which is an accident waiting to happen. |The staff at breakfast/reception and round the pool are all so lovely and welcoming (naming Lilian and Melina), these and others make the stay so enjoyable and are a credit to the hotel.|The drinks that are served are excellent but in my opinion are quite expensive (large beer is €5.50, wine is €6), I think if the hotel reduced the price, it would prevent customers bringing drink in from nearby supermarkets, which is significantly cheaper.|Having been twice to this hotel and 5 times to Rhodes, we probably won’t return for a long time but if you want a clean hotel with warm welcoming staff, I wouldn’t hesitate booking the Matoula...
