So to give this place a balanced review I will give its pros and cons.|Pros - great location, comfy beds, beautifully decorated and the owner did our laundry for free |Cons - the owner took our money twice and pretended it was an accident (if you only have 8 rooms as the website states you would surely notice all these extra euros at the end of day when balancing your card payments) I had to ask for one to be refunded and luckily we got our money back during our stay, the owners have mega phone voices shouting and screaming at each other - our first night we thought ww1 was going on outside but we got used to thier loud ways, we never got breakfast which was supposed to be included in the price(we were offered it once as we were leaving but declined and never got offered again even though they asked a time to bring it the next day but it never came so we gave up and went to the lodge narlis each morning which was gorgeous) it felt like they couldn't be bothered, the bathroom needs a refurb as toilet old and noisy and a proper deep clean as black mould in tiles, room 4 is just the worst location in the hotel do not accept this room, The bathroom has these 3 open triangles that lead straight out to reception no glass no nothing so you hear everything and they hear everything so not ideal for a bathroom, room 4 was really dark as it only had the door and 1 window. Air conditioning and fridge too noisy.|Although we loved Sifnos and will go back but we will not return back to this hotel, such a shame as we had such great greek hospitality in our previous hotels but we didn't let it spoil our stay at all but just wanted to give a real review of...
Read moreThis is the second time I have stayed at Villa Irini. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a balcony room on either occasion, but the terrace was perfectly adequate and felt perfectly private as it was early in the season (12th-26th June). It also had a really good view of both the pool and the sea beyond, both beautifully framed by flowers, trees and greenery. Everyone who works here is very friendly and helpful; nothing is too much trouble and they really make the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable. The breakfast was plentiful with a good selection, and the rooms very clean and pleasant. The showers are a little small as mentioned by some of the other reviewers, but it really isn't a problem. The pool area is lovely, and in addition to the usual sunbeds has a squashy sofa piled high with cushions to relax on. It's only a couple of minutes walk to the beach, which is where most of the other hotels and restaurants/tavernas are situated, but has an advantage over most of the other hotels by being in a quiet and peaceful area. There are two small mini-marts on the main strip, plus a shop that sells mostly shoes, swimming gear and hats, but for anything else (including banks and pharmacies) you need to take a bus trip up to Appollonia. There are some really good places to eat, my two favourites being "Maiolica" and "Water and Salt". Both serve imaginative, well-presented food, with excellent options for vegetarians and vegans. ||Villa Irini exudes charm and if I am fortunate enough to return to Sifnos for a third time it is the only place I will consider staying in. Thanks to everyone there for making my holiday...
Read moreFirst time in Sifnos and were here for 5 days. stayed in a regular room, which was perfectly suited for us, clean, tidy, good shower, little terrace outside, air con all simple and well maintained. Breakfast was basic but we eat so much at lunch and dinner in the local restaurants, the fresh fruit, eggs, juices and pastries were more than enough. Panos the general manager leads a team of staff wonderfully, anything we asked for he was on point, and always happy to help, advise and he genuinely elevated out experience. We were part of a wedding group and roughy 10 adults and 8 kids, and he was very accommodating with our needs, arranged us transfers and saved us some money, suggested shops for last minute requirements, and was readily available by phone if not on property. The only drawbacks you could say is the pool isn’t open before 11 as breakfast is served in same area, but frankly the beach is a two minute walk and for us a better option anyway, even for a quick dip, the water is simply incredible. A great base, and a really fantastic experience. Thank you...
