My partner and I stayed here for a long weekend and overall had a really lovely time. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous — while some parts give the impression of a slightly rushed build, the overall look and feel is stunning.
When we arrived (very late, around 1–2am), we joined another couple checking in who were offered a chair, while we were only handed a tablet and stood waiting. A small detail, but in a 5-star property, I’d expect the sense of luxury to begin the moment you step through the door and continue until you leave. We were provided with some cold food on arrival, which was a thoughtful gesture even if it wasn’t quite to our taste. A welcome drink would also have been a nice touch.
Check-in felt a little impersonal. We were shown towards the lift and told which building we’d be staying in, but then left to find our room ourselves. The staff member did explain that a colleague was off sick, but it wasn’t ideal after a long day of travelling. Once we reached the building, we discovered our room was on the second floor with no lift available, meaning we had to carry two 20kg suitcases, bags, and food up the stairs without assistance.
The room itself was very clean and comfortable, though a couple of small details were overlooked (we found a dead bug on the floor and a dirty spoon by the coffee machine). Aside from that, it was spotless and well presented. One issue outside of the room, however, was that none of the toilet cubicles around the hotel locked properly (Seems to have key locks but no keys were provided), which meant people accidentally walked in on others — not what you’d expect at a 5-star property and something that could be easily fixed.
Food at the hotel was tasty and varied. The dessert selection, however, could be improved. As someone with a sweet tooth, I felt it lacked some simple classics (like chocolate cake, jelly, or marshmallows for the chocolate fountain) to balance the more experimental options. Another area for improvement would be clearer dietary labels — only some items had signs, which could make it tricky for anyone with allergies to know what’s safe without asking staff.
The staff overall were friendly and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed spending time on the decking by the water and managed to get the same sunbeds each day. Unfortunately, our relaxation was disrupted daily by two men (one in a lifeguard uniform and another who seemed to know him) who sat behind us talking loudly for hours at a time. On several occasions it even sounded like they were arguing. While I completely understand occasional raised voices, it did affect the peaceful atmosphere we were hoping for.
Despite these small issues, our stay was truly enjoyable, and we would definitely return. The hotel is still very new, and I hope this feedback helps fine-tune the guest experience. It has the potential to become a fabulous holiday destination that guests will return to year after year and recommend to...
Read moreWe came back from a two week holiday at CABO on the 2nd of August and we've already booked for next year. This is the first time we've ever done this and the reason is the comfortable atmosphere which is down to the wonderful staff and everything there is to suit all tastes. We are in our sixties and I wondered if we were a bit too old compared to the other people.... how wrong we were. Yes we were some of the oldest there but everyone just mixed in together as much as you wanted to. The afternoon DJ's played great music and I was up dancing a few times, it was so much fun and I didn't feel out of place at all. I have arthritis, though the heat helps so much, but there are steps around the hotel so I don't think it would be great for anyone who has bad mobility. But if you can manage some steps you will be fine. The food is fab, there is something for everyone and you can eat from morning to night. Thank you to Katrina in the spa for a wonderful relaxing facial which I haven't had before on holiday but was a good price. My skin felt wonderful. We had a standard twin room which over looked the pools and sea, early morning sunrise was beautiful. But what makes the hotel so 5 star in our opinion is the staff. They made you feel like you were special, that it was fine to indulge yourself. We've been in four star hotels quite a few times but never had the attention of the staff at CABO. They made you feel good. So we would like to thank ALL the staff and hopefully Christina, Kostadina, Georgia and George at breakfast, the gardener and the barman who brought us fruit in coconut shells, fresh lemonade and cocktails when we lay by the pool. We hope we'll see you all...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay at Cabo, and overall it was exceptional value for money. The location is excellent, with a panoramic view across the sea and to the mountains beyond. The decor is exquisite, with a well-designed combination of neutral colours, natural materials, and soft furnishings, creating a stylish and relaxing ambience.
The service was out of this world. Christina and her whole food and beverage team are friendly and welcoming. From Spiros making me a top-notch Greek Frappé every morning, to Nikos and Dina always on hand for anything we needed at dinner, to Aristos and Sakis mixing a mean Pina Colada, to Euaggelia who delighted in teaching me Greek words - efcharistó to her for that!
The DJs by the lower pool always provided great vibes - upbeat but relaxing, and it’s great having multiple different areas to hang out including the quieter pool at the top, and the decking area by the sea.
If we had any constructive criticism it would be that the music was a little too loud later in the evening. It wasn’t too disturbing but we’d have preferred if the music was turned down more after 9pm.
The food was good and varied with lots of options. The potato gratin and crispy fish were particular favourites.
Thank you to the whole team at Cabo for giving us such an...
