Similar to other reviews here, the host was quite rude and probably shouldn't be operating an Airbnb.
We arrived at the accommodation location, tired from our flights, at the check-in time, and the key was not in the lockbox as directed. We had to call the host to figure out how to get in. After waiting to be let in, we discovered bugs/ants all over the kitchen. We notified the host about this, and she instructed us to find an alternative accommodation and cancel our booking. She then came to our room to yell and shout at us, saying that our behaviour was inappropriate and to leave as soon as possible. We had to get on the phone with Airbnb to coordinate another accommodation in Santorini, and wasted hours figuring things out. The host kept coming back to our room to ask when we were going to leave, which made us quite uncomfortable and pressured. We did not want to stay there, given the hostile environment that the host created. I have never experienced this before, but I am glad we were able to get out of there.
I am not surprised to have read other reviews for this accommodation where people had a similar experience with this host. It confirms that there is a pattern of unprofessionalism, rudeness, and defensive behaviour that the host seems to exhibit. I don’t understand how someone like this can be in a position to accommodate guests...
Read moreBooked in June 2025. Unfortunately, our experience with this host was very disappointing. The property had a serious ant infestation, which made it unpleasant. When we brought this to the host’s attention, rather than addressing the issue or offering any support, she was rude and dismissive. She asked us to leave the property instead of helping to resolve the problem.
To make matters worse, the host falsely claimed that we canceled the reservation, when in fact, she effectively forced us out by refusing to handle a clear cleanliness and pest issue. This dishonest behavior not only disrupted our travel plans but also misrepresents what actually happened. Airbnb compensate another location far better than Blackrock and double the price.
We’ve used Airbnb many times and this was by far our worst experience. I would not recommend staying here, and I hope Airbnb takes these types of situations seriously to protect future guest.
For your own benefit as a host , please take customers reviews as a comment and suggestions to improve your place and better your business. I won't ever consider referring anyone else I know to stay there , but please present your place as it is and if it's not as you present it don't mislead people cause when on vacation in a different part of the world this is the last thing you need...
Read moreWe visited Santorini and booked this location. With numerous communication from the host offering 12:00 check in which quickly turned into the worst nightmare trip. She changed her mind to 3:00pm checked in. Upon arriving the key was not in the lockbox. Waited for the key. Entering the basement apt with no ventilation was infested with ants. Pictures attached of this. Contacted the host on the Ants she immediately said we needed to find another place to stay. Instead of apologizing. With no communication skills started shouting and pressuring us to leave numerous times. She’s rude and unprofessional and lacking respect. We scrambled to find another location which Airbnb compensate. By the time we found another place to stay our entire day was wasted. This host is on Google reviewing herself as Sophia Athanasiadou giving herself a full 5 star. How unprofessional and a huge conflict of interested. You as a host lied on Airbnb that we canceled our visit when you clearly did because you were confronted with the ant infestation. Your Text is attached on this. Stay away from this place.
