Avoid this hotel - there are plenty to choose from in beautiful Santorini. ||We booked four days in Divine Caves at the end of a ten day trip to Santorini. On arrival we were told there was a 'minor' issue with the Jacuzzi, this turned out to be an issue that came with a high-pitched ringing sound from the jacuzzi that worsened in the early hours of the morning making it impossible to sleep!|||We had been promised an engineer would come but didn't, and to be honest the hotel were very unhelpful and couldn't offer us another room. They did however offer us dinner which was nowhere near equal to the cost of the room per night (600 euros) and was a joke to be honest as in their words was a ‘suitable alternative’ As they were unable to help us we decided to leave and are still in an ongoing dispute trying to obtain a refund the faulty room. ||The hotel itself? ||Overpromises and under-delivers ! We were sold by the beautiful images of the sunset as seen from the jacuzzi, which of course was lovely (not that we could enjoy it due to the noise). However, faulty hot tub aside, the balconies are overlooked with people hiking past all day and evening so privacy is an issue if you were hoping to enjoy the sunset jacuzzi. ||It is also set in the middle of nowhere, costing 35 euros to get to the nearest town so you have to rely on the ‘hospitality’ of the hotel, which is a strange set up at best description. ||The restaurant is a room with a beautiful view but not set up with any ambience, their system is for you to find a member of staff and order at the pool-side bar, then they take you to the empty room (the restaurant) and set a table for you - no music, no other guests and a strange atmosphere. ||We stayed in other gorgeous spots in Santorini, one in Perissa, one in Kamari and had an amazing experience in smaller, less ‘fancy’ hotels and would recommend that other travellers do the same. ||The staff? ||Rude and unhelpful - a real one star experience of customer service, it went from an over-friendly false welcoming to outright arguing with our complaint, refusing to replenish our coffee pods in the morning (as apparently 2 are enough per room) and now to refusing to refund us for a stay we didn’t...
Read moreThis is an excellent hotel! I would highly recommend it! The hotel is very minimalistic with the perfect touches. For example, there is a SONY bluetooth speaker in each room, which was an awesome touch. The staff here is amazing. They are very attentive to you, very responsive, and literally do anything you ask of them, including making reservations, print documents for you, answer any questions, etc. There are only 9 rooms here, so they get to know you and are very personal.
The breakfast is AMAZING and HUGE. We loved it.
The views from this room is spectacular. It's a view of the Caldera and you can see everything from here, it's practically right in the middle of the island. Watching sunset from the pool is awesome.
I will agree with some of the reviews and share that the pool is at ground level, which means those walking on the Fira to Oia walking trail are not too far from you. You can see them very well, they can see you very well. This was not an issue for us. It was actually entertaining to see people hiking, people watching, etc. They are literally walking past you for max 10 seconds. Obviously, if you want to get intimate in this outdoor area during the day time, maybe don't book here. At night time, the trail is very quiet. The proximity to the trail at first was interesting to us, but we quickly got used to it and were totally fine with it, especially given the other amazing amenities of the hotel!
The walking trail, as mentioned, is one of the best things to do in Santorini for those that want to be a little active, see the awesome Santorini views, and take some nice pictures. It's awesome how this hotel is right on the trail, so easy to just jump on to it!
Overall, I would highly...
Read more"DIVINE" is the best way to describe this cave hotel and our 5 night stay in suite 110 (their largest). The grounds and rooms are modern and minimalist. We did not get to use the gorgeous pool, lounge area and outdoor bar because it was unusually cold (last week of April) but we did enjoy the restaurant which has floor to ceiling glass panels allowing you to enjoy an incredible view of the Caldera anytime of day. The restaurant also has limited outdoor seating as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed a hearty and bountiful breakfast daily breakfast and 2 dinners at the restaurant. Best fresh squeezed OJ I have ever had, by the way. The servers were excellent and a special thanks to Alex as we saw him every day we were there and he was also full of great travel tips.
The staff made us feel special every time we interacted with them. The staff were exceptionally helpful in providing tips and suggestions, as well as arranging excursions of any kind. Here, we have to specifically thank Nopi because she took care of us like family and was always eager and ready to help or answer questions with a smile!
The hotel has competitive pricing if you book certain excursions with them. We even arranged for a private cooking session/lesson with the hotel's chef which included a tour of the grounds to show us the fresh herbs plucked for hotel meals.
Hotel has a nice Wellness area that you can book for 1-2 hours with a pool, sitting area, bathroom and shower. Recommended.
Great hotel for a quieter experience away from the buzz of Fira and Oia, yet close enough to travel to those...
