Two weeks ago, my brother and I were in Santorini and we visited this restaurant. The restaurant was just opening, but we inquired about the possibility of coming to eat. We were told we could choose a table.
We studied the menus and another waiter came to inform us that the table we had chosen was reserved. We changed tables. We placed an order. The waiters were discussing something with each other and were aggressive.
Garlic bread as an appetizer cost 10 euros. It was half a baguette, cheap and greasy. Worth of nothing. . We ordered wine. It was not imported at all.
We found ourselves being stared at and not welcome. We ate the food quickly and decided to leave.
The same waiter who messed up earlier came to bring the bill and asked with a sarcastic smile if we wanted to leave a tip. This was the most unpleasant restaurant visit ever.
From the beginning, you noticed that we were not wanted to be served. We were the first customers. Apparently we arrived too early. However, I wonder why you can't say directly if the kitchen is not open. Grow some balls!
I cannot recommend this to anyone. There was a wine bar next door where we ate the next couple of evenings. It was cleaner and the food was excellent. And cheerful and...
Read moreWe visited the White Lounge restaurant as per the suggestion of our Hotel manager. The view from this restaurant was spectacular, with the never ending view of the sea, the Caldera. The restaurant staff was very friendly and the service was quick. They suggested us the authentic Greek food to try and we went by their recommendation. We began with Fava which was similar in consistency as the Hummus but different in taste. It’s made of yellow split peas cultivated in Santorini and is popular here. It had a nice texture to it and the topping of the caramelised onions and caper added on to the flavour. It tasted well with an accompaniment of toasted bread. For main course we had the famous Greek Moussaka and the Seafood Pasta. The Moussaka was lip smacking good, and the eggplant just melted in our mouths. As first timers, we loved the Moussaka. The seafood pasta had a mix of shrimps, mussels, and calamari and it was all very fresh and tasty. The portion size was great and both the dishes were very appetising and filling. Would definitely recommend this place for the food and the view, in the very quaint and...
Read moreI didn't take many photos so only have the one shown which is the fillet steak and the view. Overall the food was decent enough and the price is slightly high but to be honest I expected it to be higher due to the view, the issue is the portions are very small.
I had garlic bread to start (not really what I was expecting it was a small dry bit of garlic bread with what I assume was the tomato sauce advertised on top that was dried up) for 8.50 euros.
Fillet steak was 34 euros which isn't that bad and the steak was alright but such a small portion of chips and no garnish or anything. Other dishes around the table all lacked portion size as well.
Amazing view from the restaurant and will be the experience and why its worth going but honestly could be a much better experience with a few tweaks with portion sizes and sides.
Service was okay, wasn't bad but nothing good to mention! I think charging for tomato sauce in sachets for a restaurant that is at that price is not great either.
Overall average experience with a great view! I wouldn't look to go back for food but maybe a drink...
