Me and my partner stayed at finikia for a week. The hotel sits in a picturesque location over looking the North side of Santorini island it is within ample walking distance to Oia which Is the very instagramable town you see all over the Internet. Oia in itself is very lacklustre, overcrowded with watered down resteraunts and views blocked by arrogant Influencers. We recommend getting up early and catching the sunrise when there is little to noone around and you can really appreciate the surroundings. Back to finikia. We found that the hotel itself to be one of the highlights of the whole trip. It is so tranquil and has a relaxing atmosphere, a very adult friendly place to stay. The pool is amazing and private surrounded by the leveled rooms makes you feel like you're swimming in your own private village. We stayed in the standard room and found it to be perfect. Our room was on the pool, it has a fridge which was topped up with bottled water daily. A comfy bed and a large shower. The room was cleaned daily and we were left feeling very satisfied every night. The staff at finikia were so helpful and could not do enough for you. The resteraunt had, in our opinion the most authentic Greek food on the island, we recommend the baked feta and the soutzoukakia. The staff in the resteraunt were incredibly pleasant and attentive, the resteraunt is on the roof and has the best view in Oia in our opinion. Breakfast which was included with the price of our room was lovely and fresh and we would like to give a special mention to Diana who was our waitress every morning she was incredibly kind and even remembered our preferences with our drinks she was polite and is a brilliant representation of the team at finikia! Thank you Diana! Overall Santorini isn't the place for greek culture but a nice place for a picture. If you want somewhere for perfect relaxation and a taste of Greek culture whilst still retaining that santorini aesthetic finikia is perfect! Thanks so much for your hospitality! 5 stars wish I...
Read moreWhere to begin with this amazing hotel? It seemed perfect in the pictures. A beautifully located, crisp white hotel in the heart of Oia. With spectacular ocean views and rooms fit for a queen. I would wake up to the fresh ocean breeze and the gentle rays of sun on my skin. This was my ideal Santorini escape - Finikia Memories Hotel. Which makes me sad to say that I won't actually make it here and experience this like I was supposed to. COVID-19 happened. Havoc broke loose across the world and before I knew it, my European holiday was off the table. I was saddened, like many others, that my country had come to a temporary standstill and that halted travel plans would soon follow. I began thinking of all the money I would lose, and the many others across the world who were in the same position. I dreaded having to contact all the accommodation sites that I had booked, for I feared the confirmation of my money being lost. However, Finikia Memories Hotel did not give me this confirmation. Instead, they gave me perhaps the most empathetic, kind and graceful service I have ever experienced. Despite having paid close to $1500 through non-refundable terms on Booking.com, they still chose to show me kindness and understanding and fully waived all cancellation fees and issued me with a full refund without any hesitation. Whilst many hotels have dodged my emails or been unwilling to reconcile, Finikia Memories Hotel has raised the bar for the industry. I am incredibly thankful and grateful for the incredible service I have received. It is a shame that I won't be able to make it to Finikia Memories Hotel this July. But whenever I am so fortunate as to travel to Santorini in the future - there is no hesitation in my mind that I will be waking up to the fresh ocean breeze and the gentle rays of sun at Finikia...
