The cons -Noisy aircon -No swimming pool -Hearing a barking dog for 20 minutes when I’m trying to read my book. -The sound of laughter outside at 1:30am -The desire to sleep but can’t because it’s too hot in the bedroom and the AC is too loud. -The owner constantly watching over you from the communal area below. -The difficulty in finding the place -The owner and cleaners inability to speak English -Not feeling safe because of all the windows in the bedroom which back onto the street or an open rooftop. The pros. -Free breakfast -Spacious rooms -A French feeling about the place. -Very good shower -Not too many people around but still close enough to the bus stop for Fira, etc. -Rooms are cleaned daily. I suppose the big question is would I stay here again and the answer to that is no, only because I struggled to sleep a lot because of the heat. If the room had a separate fan it might help with the heat but having also stayed at the Red Stone Villa at the top of the hill, I would go back there.

A beautiful, idyllic, quaint place to stay in the restored and renovated historical cave houses located in Finikia near Oia in Santorini, Greece. It has a local Greek village feel to the location compared to Oia , which is much more commercial. Heliophos is tastefully furnished, extremely clean and the fridge well stocked with yummy breakfast items. It is cool in the height of summer, very cold indoors in the winter, as it's an underground cave built into the mountain. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms impeccably clean. The sea view from the hilltop was spectacular, and this place is surrounded by local whitewashed buildings. There are a couple of restaurants at walking distance and a grocery store. One can hire a car or do the legwork on the steep hill. Very close to Oia and much better to stay away from the crowds there.

Great place we visited as couple. Space enough for two. Clean and equipment on necassary level. Stuff perfect kind. We asked for additional equipment and we got it. View from the balcony perfect as well. Definitly the place for longer stay close to Oia. Distance to Oia about 15 minutes by walk.

i was so exited to get here..oia,beaufiful hotel.|but its was terrible memory..for me.|when we got off local bus. following the google map, all the road was stuck..its terrible with big lugguge. so i put lugguge on the street, find hotel first. i couldnt find it..so i ask to other hotel reception, she kindly call the hotel no one answered..she showed me how to get there. so finally i found the hotel. owner left key and note, there's no one to help us. |the road was thrrible with rocks and steps.. during that way my lugguge wheel broken..|its was hot and we got wet.. one guy on the road said sorry for this situation for tourist..he helped us to bring lugguge. thanks god.|coz of this journey...the first impression of santorini is terrible.|we want take shower, theres no hot water, freezing. owner come back at night said we need to switch on for hot water..how do we know..?|and the breaky...it says continetal breakfast included. but..theres breads and jams juice cheese ham in the frige, says we make it ourself. no eggs no beggies. so we bought them at supermaket..we just traveld from turkey, cant help to compare the service. turkey is way better.| distance to oia 24min by walk. its very dark at night. we used flash when we come back..around 8pm..|when we left hotel owner called taxi, and boy to help bring our lugguge. we paid 6euro for that.. i expect it should be helped by hotel..and i read some reviews that hotel helped bring lugguse. its really hard many steps and narrow way. if u go this hotel, dont bring big lugguge. |anyway, because i expected a lot, disappointed a lot.|if i come back again, pay more to stay middle of oia or...

My boyfriend and I stayed for a week in July and overall, we had a lovely time. If you don’t mind a very short walk into Oia (10 mins tops), this is a great location, quiet, and cheaper than those closer to the main town.||||We watched the sunset from our balcony a few nights instead of going out as we had the perfect view. One night I cooked dinner at the apartment as there was a small electric stove and some pans. Enough to make pasta! Breakfast was good each morning; we had yoghurt, honey, jam and marmalade, Pitta bread, olive paste, sun dried tomatoes and capers, cheese and ham, cereals and hot drinks. There wasn’t fresh milk though but there’s a few shops nearby to buy. ||The apartment itself had a loft where the kitchenette was and downstairs was the bedroom and bathroom. Comfy bed, though a little on the small side if I had to make any criticisms. Also- the shower was a little temperamental (going hot and cold, didn’t always stay on). Plenty of space to hang clothes with hangers included. Fan in the room was definitely a life saver as it got HOT in July. We had it on all night. ||||The owner was very lovely and helpful, she even gave us some salt when my boyfriend asked - I came down with a throat infection on the trip and didn’t want to pay mega for the antibiotics. Salt gargle saved me! ||||Anyway.... lovely place, totally recommend. Meze Meze (restaurant) nearby is well worth a visit too if you want to have a night close to the hotel rather than...

Forget about the 150 m walk from the parking, you will have to do it in most of Oia anyway. The place is an absolute haven of peace, quiet with an amazing sunset from the top. Mornings are quiet as it is off the crowded path. The place is absolutely not isolated as some reviews would make you think. Plenty of restaurants around and among the best in Oia! Interior design of rooms is made by the owner who travels the world during off season. Not unusual to find Indian and Chinese furniture, African artifacts and so on... Inside rooms are very earthy, warm and welcoming. All comfort is offered, and do not miss to take your breakfast on the common patio outside, a thrilling experience. Or your evening drink.||The owner, who run the place, and who is present all day and most of nights is the angel. She will recommend the best places to visit and the best restaurants to eat in Santorini, follow her advises. I do travel a lot, whether for business or leisure, and I have not met anywhere that matches her service. Truly thankful to her, I firmly believe she made our holidays unforgettable. And I hope that you can arrive as a guest and leave a friends as we did.||Same place, same interior and service in center Oia will not be found at less than 2,000 eur/night. You are just 5-10 min walk to center Oia. Worth every cents.||Very highly...
