Location: |From the airport it was an excellent choice seeing that it was a 5 minute drive from the airport. Also, the boutique is smack dab downtown Santorini. 10 minute drive from Fira, where all of the action is at! As well as there was lots of boutiques & stores and quick bites to eat right there. But you had to have went to these places before dark & returned because the commute was through an alleyway to get to these places. But 100% location was on point. Sleep in the quiet area but go elsewhere and party. |Boutique: |Although they had an enormous amount of photos on the website the photos are very misleading. No where you will look up and your room will have ocean views in any room you go to. We were in downtown where the oceans was a silhouette many miles away. The rooms were like matchboxes. Nothing extravagant at all. When I arrived I had to ask for the âfreeâ bottle of wine, which was advertised on the site. Which I walked down to the store the next day which they had gotten the cheapest wine off of the shelf to give to me after I had requested the bottle that I was promised. Not to mention the mini bar had 5 items on it but was for sale not complimentary. They had one bottle of water that they provided complimentary throughout the entire stay.|The âhoneymoonâ Suite:|Did not look like the photos looked. The hot tub that was like a very small matchbox & it did not look how it looked on the photos. As well as the room, it was extremely little not clean upon arrival, barely it was just enough so that someone could come in & occupy it. The toilet seat was dirty, as well as the towels were not cleaned and I had to continue to ask for extra towels daily when they came to clean up. One day they came and cleaned the room & I had been there for 3 days by now & I asked the housekeeper to change the sheets she went & grabbed them from another room, because when she came back she was walking with the sheets balled up in her arms as if she had just got the sheets from another bed. She then put the dirty pillows on top of my clean clothes while she changed the sheets. What she did not know is that the sheets she brought had blood on them when she put them on. The free WiFi was intermittent and in the late nights and or evenings it did not work properly at all. After 4am there was no WiFi until the office opened up the next day & please do not need anyone in the office, you wonât reach anyone until after 8am. They close down around midnight. Unless you have a late arriving flight. |The breakfast: |Was mediocre you had two eggs with a choice of some lunch meat slices or cheese slices. Sliced watermelon or honeydew daily. Oh yea and some other type of cheese chunks. With a couple different choices of dry breads. Honey, Nutella, jelly. Daily the same thing. They had a coffee machine that was cut off at the end of breakfast & no more until the next day. They also had milk orange juice and water. |The staff: |George, was an extremely helpful guy, he made for sure any questions or requests that I had he made for sure that they were taken care of upon my arrival, I did not have a charger for the ports that the rooms offered & he gave me his the entire stay. I had also been traveling there all day. All of the food places were closed he Woff me some food the very first night so that I was not hungry. The other two ladies they were pleasant not for sure of their names totally. I know there was one that had a long black ponytail. She was pleasant and helpful as well, she joked a lot with me but she really met any need that I had requested. The other lady I did not get what I thought I should have gotten from her as a new person entering another country & I know nothing I expect for the people to give me some type of guidance & not just let me fen for myself. She did refer me to Nektar for a nice birthday dinner the next night. As well as one excursion. Sad part about it when the new guest came in the next morning they sat out the table & showed them all types of things that they could do with lots of options. I then asked why did no one show me all of the options that were to offer. She stated that you came at night. But what do you want to do? |One more thing they charge different prices for different people for transportation. I was told each ride was $25 each way but when there was new people checking in I heard them tell them $15, so I asked about it and they changed the rate for me. But I think that they shouldâve made that the same all across the board. |Overall: the staff was good, the boutique was not what the photos showed online. The location was great. Cost wise may as well as stay in Fira. Will I stay there again? No, & you should do your homework...
Read moreWe recently returned from a fantastic holiday at the immaculate Kallos Imar Hotel. It was a small boutique hotel (which we prefer) and everything about it was beautifully thought out.
Much of its success was down to the wonderful staff. We were welcomed by the manager, George, who was a great help throughout our holiday with advice on visiting the various sights in Santorini and how to get there. Also the hotel receptionist, Sarah, who was so friendly and always willing to help and guide us on what to see and do. They were both so helpful in recommending/booking restaurants, etc. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean thanks to our brilliant cleaning lady, Helen, who worked so hard every day to keep it like that. The restaurant at the hotel was really good; as well as breakfast every day we had two evening meals there which were delicious and we were well looked after by Panos and Rena who both served in the restaurant and around the pool.
We tried a variety of really good restaurants which were recommended by George and Sarah. The first one was Postalia in Mesalia which was very traditional and friendly, Ouzeri in Fira, Vothonaki which was a âproperâ traditional taverna in a beautiful village called Vothonas and on our last night we went to Metaxi Mas which was exceptional and a great end to our holiday.
Last but not least, we must mention the owners and creators of Kallos Imar Hotel, Mr. Angelo and Mr. Thomas. They are two of the loveliest people you could wish to meet and so proud of their hotel. They were also the âtaxi driversâ for the hotel and would go out of their way to look after you and point out the various sights around Santorini. We wouldnât hesitate in returning to this fantastic hotel run by wonderful enthusiastic staff ⌠five stars...
Read moreWe stayed here for week in September and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a tranquil base that can be both thoroughly relaxing and a great base for exploring the island of Santorini. From the minute we arrived we were impressed by the levels of service and the understated luxury of this hotel. It does not try to be flashy but offers well appointed rooms, a simple but tasty breakfast (the yogurt is to die for) all around a beautifully designed and relaxing pool area with plentiful comfortable sunbeds and beanbags. All the staff are extremely helpful, the whole place is spotless and has an oasis like feel to it compared to the busy resort areas of the island. ||A key consideration for those considering this wonderful hotel is that it is not in a resort / tourist area. There are local amenities in the from of some great supermarkets and some nice but fairly basic restaurants, but those seeking to explore the island and have a wider eating selection will need to travel a little. that said it is very easy to get around on the bus with Kamari and Fira only being 10 mins away via a 2 euro journey. Several guests did have hire cars, but we really did not see the need. I did hire a quad for the day from a local rental place which was a fantastic (and safe) way to explore the island and much cheaper than organised tours. Overall though, we felt the relaxed and tranquil environment far outweighed the downside of a few simple bus rides and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful and comfortable retreat...
