Lagadi Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

Do not book this villa. The reviews on their website were missleading. The property is nothing like the reviews. We directly booked 7 nights at Lagadi suite Executive Villa the night before our arrival. Arriving at their other property we were led to our executive villa, which was 4 meters from the road. There was nothing recognizable as an Executive villa, more like a pleasant suburban unit immediate adjacent to a road. We appealed to the couple that we did not wish to stay here and offered 50 Euro for their inconvenience of meeting us. After much strained deliberation our charge was reduced from 7 days to 3 days to 1 day for the 20minutes of difficult conversation with them. This distressing experience required us to book 2 other accommodations to cover the 7 days. Del sol spa hotel and Petite Palace hotel were accommodating. Both Exceptional. Outstanding buffet breakfasts, free 15 minute massages each, free transport bus to and from Fira, stunning swimming, plus incredible service, that we even higlited two employees Kristina and Aires in feedback. Furthermore even receiving a hug and kiss upon checkout. By the way, Same price. Also each room at the Petite Palace offers uninterrupted and magnificent views of the volcanoes and the most brilliant sunset every night. Cleanliness - 10/10, can't ask for more!

Facities - great value for money, all essentials are provided, hot tub is really great, very spacious room and in shower you also have washing machine with is superb!

You most likely will need to cook your own breakfast if you stay here, as a few restaurants in local village only open at 11.30 or 12.00, according to Google maps (did not go and check). But there are good supermarkets and we found most of things that we like, not an issue at all!!!

Lagadi Suites is located outside of Fira and Oia, leading to you being taxi dependent, but it is super affordable. We drove to Oia for 50mins and payed only 40 euros. I have booked this place specifically for hot tub, and it was the last hotel priced moderately at 150 euros per night. Given the ease of getting around by taxi - definatly recommend!!!

Konstantinos, the host, is a fabulous person!!! I have asked him a lot of small things - getting extra coffee capsules and frying pan for breakfast as well as increasing the temperature of hot tub. Lagadi suites - wow just wow. We arrived after a long flight from New Zealand to be greeted by the lovely Marina, who took the time to show us round the suite and explain all the things to see and do. Nothing is too much trouble for her, she kept in regular touch to ensure we had everything we needed. The suite itself was well appointed had everything you needed for a relaxing stay and was quiet and peaceful. Messaria is a short walk down a lovely Santorini alleyway, there you will find bars, restaurants, supermarkets and the bus stops to other wonderful places on the island. Messaria is not a beach resort and it is all the better for not being so, you can easily catch one of the regular buses to beach resorts on the island and when you have had enough come back to your own little haven of peace and tranquility and relax in your own private spa pool with a glass of wine. The ladies who come everyday to keep the place spotless and well stocked are lovely and everything adds up to a perfect base from which to explore this wonderful island.
